Asia is the Earths largest and

most populous continent, located


primarily
in
the eastern and northern
hemispheres. Though it covers only
8.7% of the Earth's total surface
area, it comprises 30% of Earth's
land area, and has historically been
home
to
the
bulk
of
the
planet's human
population (currently roughly 60%).
Asia is notable for not only overall
large size and population, but
unusually
dense
and
large
settlements as well as vast barely
populated
regions
within
the
continent of 4.4 billion people. Asia
has exhibited economic dynamism
(particularly East Asia) as well as
robust population growth during
the 20th century, but overall
population growth has since fallen
to world average levels.

Nikk National Park is a national


park in the Kant region, on the
main island of Honsh in Japan. The
park spreads over four prefectures:
Tochigi, Gunma, Fukushima, and
Niigata, and was established in
1934.

Sushi is a Japanese food consisting


of cooked vinegared rice combined
with other ingredients, seafood,
vegetables and sometimes tropical
fruits.

The Sapporo Snow Festival is a


festival held annually in Sapporo,
Japan, over seven days in February.
Odori Park, Susukino, and Tsudome
are the main sites of the festival.
The 2015 Snow Festival dates are 5
to 11 February.
Khao Yai National Park is in the
western part of the Sankamphaeng
Mountain
Range,
at
the
southwestern boundary of the
Khorat Plateau. The park is the
third largest in Thailand.

The
Songkran
festival
is
celebrated in Thailand as the
traditional New Year's Day from 13
to 15 April. It coincides with the
New Year of many calendars of
South and Southeast Asia. The
festive occasion is in keeping with
the Buddhist/Hindu solar calendar.

Kimchi is a traditional fermented


Korean
side
dish
made
of
vegetables with a variety of
seasonings. It is often described as
spicy and sour. In traditional
preparation, kimchi is often allowed
to ferment underground in jars for
months.

Chuseok, is a major harvest


festival and a three-day holiday in
Korea celebrated on the 15th day
of the 8th month of the lunar
calendar. Like many other harvest

festivals around the world, it is held


around the Autumn Equinox.

Seoraksan National Park is a


national park in South Korea. It
listed
by
the
South
Korean
government with UNESCO as a
tentative World Heritage site. It
was also the first Korean national
park to be named under the
National Park Law in 1970.
Tom Yam Goong is a Lao and
Thai, clear, spicy and sour soup.
Tom yum is widely served in
neighbouring countries such as
Cambodia, Brunei, Malaysia and
Singapore,
and
has
been
popularised around the world.

M Sn is a cluster of abandoned
and partially ruined Hindu temples
constructed between the 4th and
the 14th century AD by the kings of
Champa.
The
temples
are
dedicated to the worship of the god
Shiva, known under various local
names, the most important of
which is "Bhadresvara".

original merlion structure measures
8.6 metres tall, whilst a Merlion cub
located near the original statue
measures 2 metres tall.
Rojak is a traditional fruit and
vegetable salad dish commonly
found in Indonesia, Malaysia and
Singapore. The term "Rojak" is
Malay for mixture.

Singapore Night Festival will


take place at various locations
throughout cultural venues. The
event is a nocturnal extravaganza
with a spectacular interactive light
performances and installations.
There will also be dance, music and
installation
artworks
by
local
talents.
