Complete control of your load

If you have fixed lifting points on your loads,

choosing the right slinging gear is an easy
matter: Roundsling tackle can be adapted
with little effort to all situations.

Well secured
This is why, when it comes to roundslings,
SpanSet combines its textile lifting gear with
high-quality forged components. The hightensile connectors have been tested in accordance with DIN EN 1677 and comply with
Quality Class 8. Within the connector, the
roundsling supports the weight across its
whole width, thus excluding dangerous point
overloading. This combination ensures highest lifting capacity of up to 63 t.

Easily changed
If parts do get damaged, you do not need to
replace the complete suspension gear. Due
to the tried and tested modular system, you
can replace each component individually, be
it a roundsling, a connector or a hook. This
saves material costs and allows you to work
with complete safety at all times. And keeping tabs on your roundsling suspension gear
is even easier with the RFID transponder for
the EPC which is available on request.

Hooked on safely

Reliably protected

The hooks for the roundslings are forged

from high-grade steel. The alloy used is
highly resilient and permits a compact construction of the hook with optimum throat
opening. This makes inserting the hook at
the lifting points extremely convenient.

To increase their service life, all models of

SpanSet roundslings are covered with an
additional protective sleeve. Sleeves, colourcoded for lifting capacity in accordance with
DIN EN, are sewn on and increase abrasion
resistance while at the same time improving
handling by making the roundsling more
compact.

Joker Hooks
for roundslings and flat slings

A doubly useful hook

Safety is the guiding principle

Joker Hooks are the ideal complement to

your round and flat slings. After all, they are
all-rounders: They can either be used to
extend the length of slinging gear or as terminal hooks which guarantee a secure purchase at anchor points. Combined with one
or more roundslings, multi-leg suspension
gear can be created on the spot.

The special quality steel (8 Plus) is forged

and thus particularly robust. The construction
of the Joker Hook according to the Skeletto
principle saves weight on the 1, 2 and 3 t
Jokers and makes for easy handling. And in
order to exclude any errors, the hooks are
painted the same colour as the textile slings
with the same lifting capacity. This way, you
can identify the right hook for your use at a
glance.

Joker Hooks have been designed so that

their characteristics make them ideally
suited to combine with textile slinging gear.
The objective: easy to handle and reliable in
use. Intelligent details such as the specially
shaped tip of the hook make it easier to
insert in fixed lifting points. The raised side
cheeks on the hook guide the textile lifting
gear as if in a groove. This prevents abrasion
on the edges.

Towing and recovery strap

SpanSet SafetyPlus sets the safety standard

for towing equipment.
When loads whose weight is unknown are
towed and ropes, chains or textile slings
break as a result of overload, there is extreme danger to the user when the broken end
of the towing equipment whips out.
In the case of SafetyPlus, the sling is contained within a safety sleeve which reliably
prevents whiplash in the event of overload.
The safety sleeve has reinforced connecting
loops into which the sling is sewn.

The actual towing equipment is a roundsling

which like the safety sleeve and the connecting loops is made of high-strength polyester.
SafetyPlus is manufactured as per DIN EN
1494/2 and is supplied with a label which
indicates to the user the specifications regarding the maximum tensile force and the
safety instructions for use. The information is
so formulated that there is a triple safety
margin for breaks.

The considerably higher strain and elastic

capacity of the protective sleeve, which has
been matched to the resilience of the sling,
guarantee that, in the event that the towing
sling breaks, the energy released is dissipated inside the sleeve and the towing sling
does not whip out.

Secure loads efficiently without damage

For securing heavy loads in everyday work

situations, you not only need straps you can
rely on. You need a solution to get the work
done easily, and one which makes it easy to
check on safety quickly and easily, too. Our
ratchet strap tensioners are the perfect answer.

Longer lever, tensioning without breaking your back

The extended handle on the Ergo ratchets
considerably reduces the effort required for
lashing. You can achieve even high tension
with considerably less muscle power. Because you work the handle by pulling
downwards instead of pushing upwards,
they are a lot easier on your back. With the
extra-long lever they fulfill ergonomic requirements even better.

"Anti-Belt-Slip" process
The ratchet is loosened, the tension is
released all at once and the load falls:
whoever has experienced this just once,
knows how important ABS is. Because
thanks to ABS, you have complete control
when unlashing. The ABS system releases
the pretension force in small steps.
This gives you the opportunity to straighten
loads which are leaning on the strap and in
danger of tipping by using a forklift truck.
This helps to prevent damage and avoid
accidents.

Tension Force Indicator

Using the patented
TFI, you can check at
a glance the amount
of tension force
being applied to the
load. If the jaws of the TFI are completely
closed, this indicates the maximum achievable pretension force of 750 daN. Intermediate forces can also be read. It couldn't be
easier. And now there is a TFI with an adaptor for the adjustable strap section.

Integrated edge protectors

SpanSet straps are well-known for their low
elasticity of 4% maximum. With their additional anti-abrasion webbing edge, even
with irregular loads they are a safe bet. A
tough partner when it comes to securing
loads.

EasyLashtex
EasyLashtex straps are woven from PE hightensile fibres and designed for highest load
capacity during transport. They can be used
for load restraints or for strapping palleted
goods. Due to the weft and the thermofixing, these straps are as durable as steel
straps, but considerably lighter. What's more,
lashing straps are more convenient and safer
to handle, because when securing or removing steel straps there is the danger of nasty
injuries from sharp metal edges or straps
whipping back. With textile straps, this problem does not arise.

Protection for your load

Yet another advantage of straps: since they
are not as sharp-edged as steel straps, they
do not damage the load. Sudden movements
during transport are damped by the characteristics of the woven material. EasyLashtex is

High tensile strength

For some systems you need frame buckles.
They consist of shaped, welded, round steel

buckle, you can achieve significantly higher

think in particular their edges. In addition,
each load consists of a multitude of individual stones or items. If you put on normal
corner protectors, the stone underneath is
pushed out of place. This is where our Paletto helps out.

When it comes to load securing by means of

frictional connection: the greater the friction
between load and platform, the fewer lashing straps you need. Without using anti-slip
mats, it is usually impossible to tie down a
load economically. This is why with SpanSet
Grip we have developed an anti-slip mat
with which it has been proven that the decisive coefficient of friction () for different
friction combinations can be increased up to
0.6. Even a coefficient of friction of 0.9 can
be achieved with a surface pressure of 120 g/mm2 with the 2-mm mat, or of 10-40
g/mm2 with the 9.5-mm mat. These values

edge of the load. To avoid this we have
developed KaSi, corner protectors specially
for paper rolls.

When it comes to straight edges, LOX is the

best protection for your load edges. Made of
resistant polypropylene, it can be quickly
attached and fixes the strap so that it cannot
slip. In addition it represents an affordable
solution for everyday applications in the
transport sector.

Curtainsiders do have one problem: they do
not provide sufficient sturdiness in the sidewall to secure heavy loads or those which
are stacked high. A reinforced curtain, when
it bulges out, may perhaps hold a load but it
does not have sufficient strength to force the
load back to the centre of the platform. Particularly in the case of piece goods on pallets
or dangerous goods (e.g.: drums for the chemical industry or big-bags) critical situations
may arise. What starts as a bulge in the curtain can end with the loss of the entire load

The ErgoLine horizontal webbing safety line
provides both optimum safety and also the
necessary freedom of movement for work at
height. The horizontal strap is tensioned with
the Ergo ratchet tensioner between two
anchor points, e.g.: beams. Thereafter the
user is secured over the whole length of the
span. In addition a built-in TFI indicates the
tension on the line.
The horizontal webbing line is supplied in a
practical carry bag with shoulder strap,

SpanSet inertia reels are suitable for all

assembly, servicing and cleaning work at
height. Yet another plus point: they can be
used in confined spaces , e.g.: in shafts or

The braking system works like a safety harness. You can move around quite normally but in the event of a fall, the brake acts
immediately. Thus even at low working
heights you are protected: fall height is minimum.

Gotcha Shark rescue kit

Gotcha rescue kit

The SpanSet Shark kit is a simple descent

rescue system. The device has been tested
and authorised for use in accordance with
DIN EN 341 as rescue equipment/abseil
device. Learning to use and handle it is
quick. It can be used to evacuate one or two
people, as well as to rescue a person who
has fallen. In order to rescue the fallen person, the rescuer descends by means of this
abseil device to the casualty, connects the
abseil rope to the latter's fall-arrest harness,
releases the casualty's attachment and then
lowers himself to safety on the ground.

The SpanSet Gotcha rescue device in accordance with EN 1491 enables a rapid rescue
by descent or ascent. It is equipped with pulley tackle controlled by a rope brake. Equally,
pulling up the casualty to a higher point can
be carried out quickly and safely. One of the
special features of the Gotcha rescue devices is the telescopic pole. This makes it possible for the rescuer to tie the suspended
person via a snap-fit coupling to the Gotcha
system without the rescuer himself having to
get into a dangerous situation. Rescue from
a fall-arrest device is possible with the aid of
an additional device; please ask us for
details. A special snap-fit connector is fitted
on the telescopic pole which clicks onto the
attachment point of the fallen person's fallarrest harness. Depending on the circumstances, the system can be attached to anchor
points below or above the rescuer.

The Gotcha Shark standard kit contains:

thanks to modern technology with RFID
transponders, makes the task of collecting
data and administering your load securing,
hoisting, and height safety products easier
than ever. The EPC database has been extended to include many convenient functions for
efficient product administration, documentation and inventory and is now network-capable. Importing your existing test and product
data into the new EPC is a simple matter.
Using the Importer, EPC provides you with a
helpful tool a system which is prepared for
future advances with which you will save a
great deal of time and administrative resources. Part of the overall system solution is a
free-of-charge customer portal in Internet
which reduces administrative costs and
makes a conventional paper filing system
superfluous. Combined with the testing service at your local SpanSet representative,
the system comes full-circle. The intelligent
functions of the new EPC software relieve
you considerably from many routine tasks in
product administration: preparation and updating of inventory lists, stock entry and
removal, documentation on service life,
testing and repairs - all become considerably
simpler.
