    ON SUNDAY afternoon, five
    members competed in the Armidale
    Rifle Clubs 600 yard match.
    There was a light wind coming
    from the SSW changing to NNW with
    an added mirage.
    In F-Class Standard Ian Moffatt
    was the overall winner for the day
    scoring 108.4.
    There were no target rifle
    competitors.
    Results: F Class standard.
    B Grade: Ian Moffatt 52.1, 56.3,
    108.4

    competition will be a 700 yards
    match to be held on Sunday
    commencing at 11am.

    SPORTING SHOOTERS
    LAST weekend shooting was held
    at Armidale on Sunday with a Field
    Rifle event.
    No results available.
    This weekend shooting will be
    held at the Woodlawn, Uralla range
    on Sunday with several disciplines:
    Service Rifle, Centrefire Field Rifle,
    Rimfire and Centrefire Benchrest,
    Single Action and Shotgun will
    available during the day.
    The Varmint Shoot will again be
    held for the Ian Barger Memorial

    Shield. This will be a 20 shot event


    with no sighters allowed and shot
    over 100 and 200 yards.
    The Varmint shoot will commence
    as soon as possible after the
    Benchrest Range opens in the
    morning for those people interested
    and general shooting will be
    available as usual.
    Come along with your off the shelf
    centrefire hunting rifles and enjoy
    the shoot.
    The winner will be presented with
    the Ian Barger Memorial Shield at
    the Annual General Meeting in
    February.

    THERE was no time for lengthy
    celebrations for Armidale mountain biker Katherine Hosking after taking out the Northern
    Inland Academy of Sports
    Female Athlete of the Year award
    over the weekend.
    The fifteen-year-old was
    straight off to a training camp after her win on Sunday, honing
    her skills on two wheels.
    I have been lucky enough to
    be selected to join a national
    mountain biking team Torq
    Merida Australia, Hosking said.
    I am the most junior rider, so
    I will be learning from riders
    from my category to elites and
    all the support staff.
    Its pretty cool that Holly
    Harris, three times national
    champion, is also in the team.
    Hollys sort of shown me and
    the other Armidale riders whats
    possible in mountain biking if
    you put your mind to it.
    The teenager was thrilled when
    she was presented with the award
    in Armidale over the weekend.
    She said she was not expecting hear her name called
    Last year I was nominated,
    but didnt win, I was amazed at
    what the other nominees and
    winners had achieved and felt

    On Wednesday November 4
    Steve Waugh and his peloton
    cyclists will be leaving the
    Harvey Norman Centre at 7am
    to continue their journey to
    Bryon Bay
