PBT Network

This document contains details for setting up a network for the ABC Computer Lab, including: 1. A cost calculation for the required devices totaling over RM117,000. 2. Choosing to use wired connections for faster speeds, lower latency, and avoiding wireless interference issues. 3. Assigning static IP addresses to servers, routers, and printers, and dynamic addresses to computers, with IP address ranges provided for two branches of the network. 4. Selecting a Class C IP address scheme for both branches to accommodate the local network sizes. 5. Mentioning router security features like password protection to prevent unauthorized access.

Question B:
CONNECTION AND EXPLANATION:
We use wired network connection because:
faster speeds
lower latency
no wireless interference problems

Faster Speeds

Faster new standard 802.11ac and 802.11n

Maximum speeds of 866.7 Mb/s and 150 Mb/s .

Maximum speed for devices on your network to share.

Wired Ethernet connection offer up to 10 Gb/s.

If you have a Cat-6 cable. M

Maximum speed of your Ethernet cable is 1Gb/s

Lower Latency
How latency work :

Cable Internet Connection (High Speed, Low Latency):

Click a link on a web page and the web page appear almost
immediately, downloading almost all at once.

Latency is a big factor known as ping in online gaming . If

reducing latency as much the player will gain lag in gaming.

With a wired Ethernet connection, theres less latency.

Wireless Interference

Wi-Fi is subject to more interference than a wired connection.

If using Wi-Fi, many things can interfere. Your neighbour networks,

other devices using Wi-Fi spectrum, and objects in the way can all
cause problems.

If moving around, your signal may be stronger in some places than

others.

The latency depends on condition and places
