ELM Work Instruction - v2
ELM is the tool used to upload a mass list of new accounts or to mass update existing accounts.
Log into the IC Web (CRM)
Select ELM
Select the link for the format you need for your list?
This will take you to the Mapping Format Details
The excel document will be created Click on Spreadsheet and you will see the following format:
Delete Column E through A Your file should look like the screenshot below:
You will use this mapping format to populate the fields you want to mass load. Use the Customer Maintain
Mapping Descriptions document for CSTMT and Customer Create Mapping Descriptions document for
CSTCR.
Enter new values starting in row 5 (using the code values provided in the Customer Mapping Descriptions
documents). If you are using the Customer Maintain Mapping format you will need to enter the Customer
Number(s) in the first column (Organization ID). Only add the values in the column(s) for the fields you will be
updating. Once you have entered all of the values you will be loading highlight rows 1-4 and delete them only
leaving the new values you added to the spreadsheet.
Once you complete your list of values you will be loading in the correct columns based off of the mapping
format you will need to delete the header and save as csv file.
ELM Select External List Create
Complete the following fields under General Data;
ID = Use standard file name AS_Project Name_Date
External List Origin = Where it was received from
External List Type = Internally Procured
Mapping Format = Customer Create/CSTCR (new accounts) or Customer Maintain/CSTMT (existing accounts)
Click blue hyperlink to see error details. Please note if header left on file, an error will occur for line 1.
Click Show List Records to pull accounts created. Results will only show 4 records at a time. In order to
change the results to next 4 accounts change Display Records from Position to next record youd like to view.
(example if the last record viewed is 5, enter 6, to view the next 4 records)
You will have access to pull a complete list of customer details from BI
Mapping Codes must be in all caps (Xs, Comp Types, ID Codes, Functions)
Watch out for zip codes and mapping codes that start with a zero. You must always insert 0
(apostrophe, zero) in the beginning of that field to make sure it is read properly when uploading.
