Job Summary:

Responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance, and aesthetic upkeep of the


hotel with a trained and motivated team that observes the policies,
procedures, and standards of the establishment to deliver service
according to satisfaction to the guests.

Develop and monitor an annual housekeeping budget and plan.


Hire, Train, Lead and motivate the Housekeeping team.
Ensure two-way communication with daily department meeting
Organise and direct the various sub-activities of the department.
Approve expenses exercising cost control.
Represent housekeeping in co-ordination meetings.
Develop & update housekeeping policies, systems, procedures and
standards.

9. Ensure staff safety and hygiene.

Ensure coordination with engineering, laundry, and the front

floors and public areas.
4. SECURITY: On matters of safety and security.
5. PURCHASING: Purchase of capital and daily supplies.
Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor in Hotel Management or Home science and Minimum 5


years as Assistant Housekeeper in a reputed hotel.
Skills and Competencies:

Thorough knowledge of housekeeping.


Training skills.
Guest-handling skills.
Leadership and motivation skills.
Well-groomed and physically fit.
Budgeting skills.
Eye for detail.

ASSISTANT HOUSEKEEPER
Job Title:

Assistant Housekeeper
Reports To:

1. Accommodations Manager
2. Executive Housekeeper
Job Summary:

Responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance, and aesthetic upkeep of the


hotel and ensure that polices, systems, procedures, and standards are
understood and implemented by housekeeping supervisors at operational
levels in a shift.
Duties & Responsibility:

1. Conduct morning shift brefings and allot duties for day.


2. Lead, Train and motivate a housekeeping team in a shift.
3. Inspect VIP rooms and ensure that the staff have followed the
procedures set.
4. Organise and direct various sub-activities of the department.
5. Review the requisitions for supplies from supervisors and
recommend them to Executive Housekeeper in mind the cost
control.
6. Represent the department, in the absence of the Executive
Housekeeper, at coordination meetings including the General
Manager meetings morning meeting.
7. Ensure that housekeeping policies, systems, procedures and
standards are followed by all housekeeping staff and recommend
changes if needed.
8. Recommend staff rotations and duties and organise extra hands
when required.
9. Ensure the safety and hygiene of the housekeeping staff.
10.
Maintain discipline and conduct performance appraisals of the
supervisors.
11.
Conduct inspection of areas to ensure that standards are met.
12.
Ensure proper coordination with all departments, especially
the engineering, laundry, and the front office.
13.
Assist the Executive Housekeeper in market surveys of new
suppliers and products.
14.
Execute periodic competition analysis.

FLOOR SUPERVISOR
Job Title:

Floor Supervisor
Reports To:

1. Accommodations Manager
2. Executive Housekeeper
Job Summary:

To ensure according that guest rooms on allotted floor/s are cleaned


and maintained according to standards and within productivity limits in a
shift.
Duties & Responsibility:

1. Inspect staff turnout of the team assigned.


2. Lead, train and motivate a floor team to prepare rooms according to
standards and satisfaction of the guests.
3. Inspect VIP rooms and ensure that the room attendant has followed
the procedures set.
4. Inspect each room completed by room attendant with a specified
room checklist and ensure that they meet the standards of the
establishments in terms of cleanliness, functionality and aesthetic
value.
5. Maintain the floor pantry. Check par stocks of linen and guest
amenities and cleaning supplies and give their requisition in a timely
manner.
6. Supervise the linen exchange procedure with the laundry ensuring
that par stocks are maintained account for the stocks.
7. Ensure that housekeeping policies, systems, procedures, and
standards are followed by all staff on the floor.
8. Train Room Attendants and Housemen to achieve productivity and
efficiency standards.
9. Ensure the safety and hygiene of the housekeeping staff.
10.
Liase with security personnel on security matters on the
floors.
11.
Prepare the housekeeping report for the Front Office.
12.
Check all maids carts to ensure well that they are well
stocked with linen and supplies as per the standards.
13.
Liase with the Housekeeping Control for the departure rooms
that need to be cleaned for sale and confirms whether those rooms
have been cleared or not.
14.
Check the serviceability of all floor equipment.

15.
Report all lost and found items and ensure that the prescribed
procedures are followed.
16.
Ensure that internal plants and floral arrangements are
watered and recycled by the Horticulturist Department.
Directly Supervises:

Room Attendants and housemen on a given floor.


Limits of Authority:

1. Evaluates performance of room attendants and housemen in his


charge.
2. Maintains disciplines of staff.
3. Can give requisition for linen and supplies for a floor.
Coordinates With:

FRONT OFFICE: For the housekeeping room reports and the cleanliness of
rooms and making them available for sale.
ENGINEERING: On matters of maintenance and safety on guest floors.
SECURITY: On matters of safety and security.
LAUNDRY: For the deposit of soiled linen of a floor.
LINEN ROOM: For issue of fresh linen.
GENERAL STORES: To give requisition for supplies.
PURCHASING: Purchase of capital and daily supplies.
Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor/Diploma in Hotel Management or Home science and


Minimum 5 years as Room Attendants in a reputed hotel.
Skills and Competencies:

Knowledge of housekeeping systems and procedures.


Training skills.
Guest-handling skills.
Well-groomed and physically fit.
Eye for detail.
