The Alvarado- Aquino Wedding

I.

Opening Note
RHENZ: Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention
please. We are about to begin our Dinner Reception so may I request
everyone to please find their seats and make yourselves comfortable.
Thank you.

Welcome Remarks
RHENZ: A very good evening to everyone and welcome to Ava and Ricky
Dinner Reception. We are done with the initial part of the celebration and
we thank of course Hon. Mayor Jeffrey Jubal C. Nalupta for the civil
ceremony. And for those who just join in, Welcome! And so, here we are on
this lovely reception at MMSU MANSION for the most exciting part - the
Dinner Reception for our newlyweds in celebration of the beginning of
their new life together. In behalf of AVA and RICKY and their parents, we
would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for your presence at this
memorable occasion. It is indeed a pleasure to have you all tonight.
Without further ado, we would like to introduce the family and friends who
played significant parts in this afternoon's wedding rites.

Acknowledgement of the Entourage


RHENZ: May we introduce you to the people who stood witness to the
couple as they took their vows. Let's put our hands together and welcome

RHENZ: So there you have it ladies and gentlemen, our most


distinguished set of principal sponsors. Now, key persons who played major
role in the life of our newly wed, the parent of the groom Mrs. Josefina
Padica and Mrs. Potenciana M. Aquino, Ava's loving mother.

RHENZ: Also, we have these charming and alluring flower ladies,


SARAH JANE CUENCO, NICOLE AGANUS AND CHRISTINE MAE SASIPIT. A
round of applause for them please.

Entrance of the Bride and Groom

RHENZ: At this point I assume that everyone has down and we are all
ready to welcome the reason why we are all gathered here this afternoon, Im
referring to our very excited newlyweds, RICKY and AVA.

RHENZ: Congratulations RICKY and AVA and best wishes to both of


you. We wish you to be blessed with a long and happy life together with your
dozens of children with the guidance of our Almighty God.

V.
Invocation

RHENZ: And so, May I call on Pastor Samuel Rafael for a prayer of
blessings for our newlyweds and for every one of us.

Wine Toast Proposal

RHENZ: The wedding toast is a long-held tradition performed to wish


the newlyweds good health and prosperity throughout their married life.
The clinking of the glasses was done to ward off evil spirits. The speeches
said during the wedding toasts express the collective feelings and wishes

of everyone in attendance. Wine is used for toasting because its sweet


taste represents everyone's wish for a sweet life for the newlyweds. May I
call on Mr. Jovart Alvarado, brother of the groom to lead the ceremony.

Couples First Dance

RHENZ: Next is much exciting ...The First Dance... The First Dance is
symbolic of the consummation of their wedding vows. This Dance is the
wedding couples' first cooperative engagement and joint endeavor. As the
saying goes, It takes two to tango. Ladies and gentlemen, it is once again
my privilege to present to you Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Aquino with their First
Dance.

at the middle of the dance.ladies and gentlemen, we now proceed


to our money dance or what we call our traditional bitor wherein money is
pinned or taped onto the new married couple's garments, representing the
wish that good fortune is "rained" upon them, while also helping the couple
financially as they begin their life together.

DINNER and PHOTO OPT

RHENZ: Well I believe the food is now ready and dinner will commence
shortly so may I call on __________________________________ to say grace
before meals.

Messages from the sponsors, relatives and friends

SLICING of the CAKE

RHENZ: The cake, which has been a part of wedding celebrations


since the Roman times, is a symbol of good luck and fertility. The sharing
of this food symbolizes the couple's willingness to fulfill each other's
needs, creating a bond so simple and yet so strongit is believed that the
bigger the piece of cake that is fed to each other, the bigger their family
would become. So ladies and gentlemen, our couple in the slicing of the
cake.

Wine Toasting Ceremony

RHENZ: it is believed that wines during wedding ceremonies


symbolizes about the desire that the couple will never go thirsty and that
their lives will be filled with health and happiness.

Retrieval of the Garter

RHENZ: Before we go on with the Garter Toss, the groom is to retrieve

the garter from his bride. So may we request Ricky and Ava to please
come center stage and do the garter retrieval ritual.
(A chair is in the center for the bride to sit. while groom kneels
down at the bride's feet ready to retrieve the garter)
Ladies and gentleman the groom will now retrieve the garter from the
bride.
(Groom retrieves the garter from the bride.)

There you have it ladies and gentlemen; the groom was finally able to
retrieve the garter. Let us give him a big hand.

XIV

Garter Toss

RHENZ: Ok it is now the gentlemen's turn and we will now do the


garter toss. May I now request all single men to please come forward for
the Garter Toss.
(INSTRUCTIONS: Emcee motions and waits for all single men to
come forward)
Gentlemen please take your place behind the groom and be ready to
catch the garter.
So is everyone ready? At the count of three the groom will throw the
garter and again we request the audience to participate in the countdown.
(INSTRUCTIONS: Emcee makes sure that everyone is in place)
Ok ready when you are guys. One.. TwoThree and .....off it
goes !!!!
(Groom throws the garter and the gentlemen tries to catch it.)

XIV.

Throwing of the Bouquet

RHENZ: Ok now let us all have some fun and its time for the
traditional Bouquet Throw.
At this point we would like to request all the single ladies to please come
forward for the bouquet throw. We would also like to request the bride to
come forward and take her place center stage.

Ladies kindly take your place behind the bride and be prepared to catch
the bouquet.
It is said that whoever will catch the bouquet will soon be the next bride.
So is everyone in? Ready when you are - at the count of three the bride
will throw her bouquet.
May I also request the audience to please join me in the counting.
Ready when you are ladies. Let us now do the countdown.
One.Two.Threeand there it goes.
B: May I request for the lady who was able to catch the bouquet to please
come forward
Congratulations Miss, May I have your name please.
(INSTRUCTIONS: Emcee draws the microphone to the lady .)
Ok lets give a big hand to Miss ___________.

XVI: Match- Making Rituals

RHENZ: May I request for the gentlemen with the quick hand who now
have in his possession
the garter.
Sir please come forward and take your place beside the lady who has the
bouquet. Congratulations Sir. May I have your name please.
(INSTRUCTIONS: Emcee draws the microphone to the gentleman.)
Thank you Mr. ___________, Friends lets give this gentlemen a big hand.
Now that we have already found a perfect match. The next bride and groom
to be. It is time for another ritual. The gentlemen who got the garter is to put
it on the lady who caught the bouquet. At this point we would like to request
Ms. __ _________to please have a seat while Mr. ___________ will put the garter.
Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. __________ will now put on the garter on Ms.
_________.

(Lady takes a seat while gentleman puts the garter on her.)


There you have it ladies and gentlemen. Our new lovely pair and if it would
not be too much to ask we would like the gentlemen to give the lady a quick
kiss.

XVIII.
Message of the parents:

RHENZ: it is now time for us to listen to the significant persons in the


lives of our newlyweds, no other than the parents of the new couple for their
message for the
newlyweds. May I call on first the mother of the groom, Mrs. Bella C. Alvarado
for her message.

XIX: Message of Thanks from the Newlyweds

RHENZ: The night and this celebration has almost come to an end
but for our newlyweds it is just a start of their new life together. As
we each go home, may this day be memorable for all of us as it is
to them. To personally convey their heartfelt gratitude let us now
lend an ear to Ricky and Ava.
(Ricky and Ava delivers their message of gratitude.)

XX: Closing Remarks


RHENZ: Well I guess thats about everything ladies and gentlemen
we have finally come to the end of our program. It has been a great
day and a wonderful evening with you all.Again thank you all for
your presence.
God bless and Goodnight to each and everyone.
