INSTALLBASEMANAGEMENT(Introduction)

Installedbasemanagementenablestherepresentationofobjectsinstalledatyourcustomerssite(suchasdevices,
machines,software,andsoon)forwhichaserviceisoffered.Itcanalsobeusedtomanageobjectsusedinternally.
Aninstalledbasecanbedescribedasamultilevelstructureofinstalledbasecomponentsformanagingobjectsthat
areinstalled(oraregoingtobeinstalled)onsite,suchasequipments,devices,machines,orsoftware.Aninstalled
basecanbethereferencebasisforservices.
Aninstalledbasedescribesthehierarchicalstructureoftheseobjectsandtheirindividualparts(components).
installedbasemanagementisaboutmanagingthecompletelifecycleofthecustomerassetsfromthetimeitisinstalled
andbecomesproductive,throughtheperioditisinuseuntiltheperiodtilleventuallyitisdismantled.

InSAPCRM,aninstalledbasecouldbecomposedof:
1)Products
Theproductcontainsgeneralinformationaboutthegoodsorservicesitdescribes,suchasdevices,
machines,orsoftware.
2)Objects
Auniqueinstanceofaproductthatexistsonlyonce,forexample,avehicle,aPC,oraserialized
sparepart.Itisgenerallyidentifiedbyanumber,fixedrelationship,ordescription,suchasID
number,location,andbuildingwithaddress.
3)Text
Textcomponentscanalsobeusedtostructureaninstalledbasebyroomnumbersinthecustomer's
building,forinstance.
4)Installedbasecomponents
Aninstalledbasecouldbeacomponentofanotherinstalledbase.
Thefollowingexampledemonstrateshowtoorganizethestructureoftheinstalledbasewith
differentcomponents.

1. 3.Informationintegrationintheinstalledbase

TheinstalledbasecanstorevarioustypesofInformationlike:
Counterandreading
Youcanassigncounterstoanobjectoraninstalledbasecomponent.Youcanviewandassign

counterinformationandrecordmeasurementreadingsforinstalledbase,installedbase
components,andobjects.Themaintenanceorderwillbetriggeredwhenspecifiedcounterreading
isreached.CRMbillingfromservicedocumentscanbeperformedonthebasisofcounterreadings

Qualificationrequirement
Youcandefinequalificationrequirementsforserviceemployeesforaninstalledbaseoran
installedbasecomponentandthenassignthequalifiedemployeesforthefieldserviceforexample.
Servicelevels
YoucanassignthecorrectserviceprofileandresponseprofiletoInstalledBaseandComponents

forServiceLevelAgreement(SLA)determinationduringtheserviceprocess.
PartnerInformation
Youassignbusinesspartnerssuchassoldtoparty,serviceemployeegroup,responsibleemployee,
andsoon,toeachinstalledbaseoreachinstalledbasecomponent.Theinstalledbasecanbe
identifiedanddisplayedusingthepartnerinformationintheserviceprocess.
AddressInformation
Youcanassignanaddresstoeachinstalledbaseorinstalledbasecomponent.Anaddresscanbe,

forexample,thedeliveryaddress,location,orcustomeraddress.
Equipmentandfunctionallocation
FunctionallocationandequipmentthathasbeenalreadymaintainedinERPcannowbe
downloadedtoSAPCRMsystemandgraphicallyrepresentedintheinstallbasetreestructure.
NOTE:InSAPCRM,installedbasemanagementisalsosupportedthroughmultiplechannelslike
Interactioncenter(callcenter)andmobilechannel(e.g.laptop)
