INQUIRY AND BOOK RESERVATION

3.1 Introduction
The proposed Library System for Bohol Wisdom College will be able to
cater to the different problem cited before. Security and reliability of the whole
system will be assured by a login module. The lengthy book searches,
cataloguing and even circulation will be solved by creating modules that will
function for each and every specific task intended for the operation of the library.
Data duplication will be avoided through correct searching and trapping of data
methods. Paper wastage will not be any more a problem since, gone will be the
extra sheets needed for logs and records since most records will be accessed
through computers. Lesser printing of reports will be required since the Inquiry
module will give detailed reports in a form of data and can be analyzed even
without the need to print the results. Hardware such as monitors, mice,
keyboards will be used to efficiently do the specific tasks needed to operate the
library. Books and other library resources can be easily tracked and monitored
through user logs and transaction logs, both of which are developed within the
system. Errors will be lessened especially during inputting of data since
librarians and students will be accessing the system through their computers and
mobile phones. Data will not be easily destroyed and tampered with since it is
located within the database of the system.

Hardware
A. Input Devices
The group will make use of keyboard (QWERTY keyboard) and
mouse (USB compatible) to input data and records to the system.
B. Output Devices
The system to be created will make use of a monitor that
supports all kinds of screen resolution from 800x600 to
1920x1080.
Software
The researchers will be needing the following software to
develop and run the system:
Operating System: Windows 7/8/8.1
Language: PHP, Java
IDE: Sublime Text 2.0, Eclipse
Database: MySQL Server / phpMyAdmin (Backend)

3.2.5 Summary
Entity relationship diagram (ERD) the logical structure of
database. They specify how many instances of an entity relate to
one another of entity. It is also closely linked to the system.
While specifies the occurrences of a relationship, modularity
describes optional. In order words, specifies the maximum
number of relationship and modularity specifies the minimum of
relationships. Here, we present the structural composition of the
database used in our system. The relationship between the
entities is clearly defined and organized.
The data flow diagram shows all the flow of data within the
proposed system from context diagram to the diagram 0. This
provides a logical model that will show on how the system does.
It is important issues in the point would search for the most
effective design. The data dictionary serves the information
about the system data. It defines and describes all the data
elements combinations of data. Here we present two data flow
diagrams based on the current user. The students side shows
how data is passed on and processed from searching a book to
receiving an issued one up until the return and calculation for
fines. In the library staffs DFD, it shows how the data processed
by the student is being handled and organized in the
administration side of the proposed system.
