Introduction
This document describes the install/uninstall procedures for the BSA1 for Windows XP, Windows
Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 Operating Systems.
There are two option of installation namely:
1- Offline installation through Product CD
2- Offline installation through running scripts

2.1

Offline Installation

2.1.1

Microsoft Windows Vista/7/8 32-BIT/64-BIT


Do not connect the Reader until Driver Installation has completed.
Ensure that Administrative Rights privileges are granted.
1. Insert the Product CD into the CD-ROM Drive and select Run autorun.exe in the Autoplay
menu. Otherwise, run the installer at <CD DRIVE>:\ autorun.exe.
2. The installer will check on your computer whether had installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2008
Redistributable. Follow the wizards to successfully install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008
Redistributable.
3. When installation is completed, menu of Product CD will pop-up automatically.
4. Select Install 32-bit version for PC that is running 32-bit OS or Install 64-bit version for PC
which is running on 64-bit OS.
5. Follow the wizards until BSA1 driver and CBM Biometric USB Driver are successfully
installed.

Microsoft Windows XP 32-BIT/64-BIT


Do not connect the BSA1 Reader until Driver Installation has completed.

automatically. Otherwise, run the installer at <CD DRIVE>:\ autorun.exe.

Redistributable.
3. When installation is completed, menu of Product CD will pop-up automatically.
4. Select Install 32-bit version for PC that is running 32-bit OS or Install 64-bit version for PC
which is running on 64-bit OS.
5. Follow the wizards until BSA1 driver and CBM Biometric USB Driver are successfully
installed.

Offline Installation Scripts

2.2.1

Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7/8 32-BIT/64-BIT


1. Program a script to run the setup file.
2. File path: \DIR*\ setupdata\setup.exe.
3. The installer will check on your computer whether had installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2008
Redistributable. Follow the wizards to successfully install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008
Redistributable.
4. Follow the wizards until BSA1 driver and CBM Biometric USB Driver are successfully
installed.
* The name of the installer folder / the directory to the installer folder.

Uninstallation

2.3.1

Microsoft Windows Vista/7/8 32-BIT/64-BIT


1. Unplug the BSA1 Reader Device from the computer.
2. Go to Control Panel -> Program and Features to remove the package
For BSA1 Reader PCSC
- Windows Driver Package - GLI (BSA1 PC/SC) USB (09/18/2013, 2.0.0.11)
For SAGEM CBM
- For 64 bit : Sagem MorphoSmart USB 64-bits Drivers
For 32 bit: Sagem MorphoSmart USB Drivers

2.3.2

Microsoft Windows XP 32-BIT/64-BIT


1. Unplug the BSA1 Reader Device from the computer.
2. Go to Control Panel -> Add or Remove Program to remove the package
For BSA1 Reader PCSC
- Windows Driver Package - GLI (BSA1 PC/SC) USB (09/18/2013, 2.0.0.11)
For SAGEM CBM
- For 64 bit : Sagem MorphoSmart USB 64-bits Drivers
For 32 bit: Sagem MorphoSmart USB Drivers

Installing the Device


1. Connect the BSA1 Reader to a PC USB Port.
2. Microsoft Windows XP: Follow the pop up instructions on screen. Select Install the
software automatically when asked. Select Continue Anyway
3. Microsoft Windows Vista/7/8: Allow the device to install itself automatically.
