Brief Project Summary:
According to House bill No. 5867 The Evacuation Center Act Introduced by
Honorable Sherwin Gatchalian, Representative of the 1 st District of Valenzuela City
in the House of Representatives. This bill seeks to establish an evacuation center in
every municipality and city in the country which shall provide immediate and
temporary accommodation for people who have been evacuated or displaced from
their homes due to emergency events such as typhoons, floods, storm surges as
well as fire and the outbreak of illnesses and diseases that presents imminent
danger to life and property. Based on our present study and according to
Interaksyon News portal of TV5, Quezon Province is exposed to natural hazards in
the Philippines and The Strategical Location for our proposal is in Candelaria,
Quezon because of its low risk of isolation. Candelaria, Quezon is located nearly at a
safe distance from danger areas or hazards. The Target Beneficiaries for this
proposals are the populace of the barangays in Candelaria, Quezon and this
proposal also open to adjoining provinces and to non-residents of Candelaria,
Quezon who want to take shelter as a need arises.
