RECYCLE YOUR MARKERS You can bring your dried up markers (any brand) to the school and we will send
them in to Crayola for recycling.
GRADES K - 3
Spelling Tests (grades 2 & 3): Unit 1, Week 3: Friday, September 11, 2015
Unit 1, Week 4: Friday, September 18, 2015
Math Facts: 3rd graders are learning multiplication facts. Please study them with your student at home.
Field Trip: Grades K-4 will be going to Klackle Orchard on September 23. We will leave the school at 8:30
am and return by 3:30 pm. The cost is $6.00 per person. Each student will need to bring a sack lunch. We
still need 1 or 2 drivers. If you would like to be a driver for our trip, please let Mrs. Williams know today,
September 10 (989-565-0170). Thank you.
GRADES 4-6
Congrats to the class their team won the second game by four points.
On September 21, 2015 our class is doing a mini-biathlon (run and cycle), On Thursday Sept. 17, 2015,
we will be checking all bikes for PE class. Helmets are required on our ride. On Monday, September
21, 2015, we will run and then ride to Deaner Rd on the trail leaving from and returning to Cedar Lake.
September 22-24 the fourth grade will be with Mrs. Williams classroom while the 5th-6th graders are
at Camp Au Sable. They will be also going to Klackle Orchards on Wednesday the 23nd (Please see
Grades K-3 section for more information).
Outdoor Education is scheduled for September 22-24. The cost per student is $50.00. Mrs. Santos
will be the girls chaperone.
Bible: Memorize OT and NT books; Lesson 3 Memory Verse and worksheet.
Reading: Shepherd Warrior and Amos Fortune
Read Aloud: Ben Carson Ch. Gone; Animal Stories Ch. 9

Social Studies: US Presidents- first 20; US States up to Mississippi river.
World Studies: 6th Chapter 1 Test on Monday Sept. 14, 2014.
Spelling: Only List B will be used for weekly testing and tests will be on Thursdays. Week 3
Computer printout of weekly grades and missing work is given every Friday.

This year's 8th grade class is planning a dinner potluck at the elementary. We would like to invite all
parents of the 8th graders so we can discuss this school year and announce the class officers. The
potluck is scheduled to be Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 5:30. On Monday we will be sending home
a list of the food items each family is assigned to bring. We thank you for helping us make this an

PRINCIPALS CORNER
Next week is our Week of Prayer. Our speaker is Pastor Richard Bullock. We will be meeting at 9-10
am M-F. Song service begins at 9am.
Thank you again for your promptness in picking up your student(s) after school at 3:35p.m.
Reminder: Families walking to or from school need to stay in your family groups and be careful of
strangers. If you ride your bike to school, it is to be put in the bike rack upon arrival and not taken out
until you are leaving. Please do not ride it around the parking lot, down or up the driveway or
sidewalks.
Our lets move day is on Monday Sept. 21, 2015. Permission slips will be sent home next Thursday,
please be sure to have your child(ren) permission slip returned by Friday Sept. 18, 2015.
Our school Choir also is beginning this Friday after assembly Sept. 11, 2015.
ADVENTURERS: Adventurer Family Camp September 11-13 bring your field uniform and full dress uniform.
