FOSROC offers a complete line of geotextile fabrics for
use in a wide variety of applications including: drainage systems, erosion control, landscaping, maintenance and paving. The products are manufactured using both Woven and Non-woven processes. Many of the products are used in combination with Nukote advance polymer coatings in primary and secondary containment applications, but are also commonly used in standard construction applications from silt fences to foundation drainage.

Permeability criteria - The filter fabric must be
permeable enough to allow liquids to pass through it without a significant reduction in flow.
Retention criteria - The filter fabric openings must
be small enough to prevent excessive migration of soil.

Clogging criteria - The filter fabric must have a
significant number of pore openings, such that if soil particles block or clog a few openings path the flow of the filter fabric will be greater than the required system permeability.

Survivability criteria - The filter fabric must exhibit
adequate strength, chemical resistance, and environmental resistance to prevent it from becoming damaged during installation and throughout the design life of the drainage system.
GT 45 is an excellent non-woven needle punch geotextile
for sub drain applications. In fact, this is the default fabric for the AASHTO M 288-2000 specification, Class 2 (Subsurface drainage application). AASHTO (American Association of State and Highway Transportation Official in USA) is the most common standard use for highway material specification.
