Purpose
Use this procedure to create an engineering change request.
Engineering Change Management is a function that can be used to change various
aspects of production basic data (for example, BOMs, task lists) with history.
A change with history has the following distinctive characteristics:
-

It takes effect under precisely defined conditions (precise date).

The changed object is saved twice: in its state before and after the changes.

Trigger
Perform this procedure when detailed information regarding changes to BOMs and recipes is
desired. Therefore an engineering change request will be required.

Use the following menu path(s) to begin this transaction:

Create to go to the Create Change Master: Initial screen.

Helpful Hints

You may enter a change master profile on the initial screen when you create the Change
Master. The selected profile will default certain data and settings previously defined that
are always required when creating a change master. You may create a change master
from scratch or copy it from an existing change master record.

You can have the system assign a sequential number or you can assign your own number
that is either numeric, alpha or alphanumeric. If a standard is desired, the business will
need to decide what the standard will be.
