Accomplishments
Responsible for Network Administration of 2 remote offices and headquarter including 50
servers.
Helped my team overcome power outages which apparently we have in California. The cost
of generator was high and we had not have good power distribution.
Worked with management and Edison and engaged a professional vendor after our selection,
helped them generating the visio diagram, find the bottlenecks in 3phase, 2phase and single
phase power distribution.
This helped a lot for any vendors coming in and need to trace power back to the source when
a new machinery needed a service or new installation or regular PM's.
Finally decided to have two ATS switches and sized the generator that way. We rented the
generator but we have all necessary connectors in place and we are ready when budget
comes, in order to purchase rather than lease.
We also trained our team how to do a weekly maintenance and test the generator in full cycle
to make sure it is ready and running as expected. We had two power outages and generator
kicked in less than 7 seconds.
Part of my technical responsibility and strategy planning is securing the network and user
experience. We get partnered with other production team leaders to understand their need
and also educate them how the group policy in active directory works and why some
restrictions are required. We then design, develop and implement local and domain groups in
order to setup user access, permissions and DFS access. we also setup shadow copy on file
servers so in case of an accident we would have access to retrieve previous versions of the
files. Oracle EBS ERP system requires cross site access which Microsoft sees it as a security
flaw. Proper GP setting solved critical app and works fine now under Oracle.
Our 15000 sq ft production and engineering requires redundant and flexible network access.
Design, develop and implement Cisco Core, Distribution and Access switches in our data
center and different IT closets in different floors. By adjusting Vlans, proper NTP setting now
we have a secure reliable data flow across our facility. It is nice to say addition of Engineering
floor was done without any downtime, it was quite a teamwork with no accident.

Using Snapshot in vcenter managing virtual servers can save time and money. Implementing
Microsoft CRM had many unknown parameters of the new in House CRM versus the cloud
version. Applying snapshots of the CRM server at proper points, got the right server settings
based on best practices and the server went online for production and development team at
the same time.
Advanced Network Monitoring was needed and HostMonitor was able to check any TCP
service, ping a host, check a route, monitor Web, FTP, Mail, DNS servers. It can check the
available disk space, amount of free physical or virtual memory, CPU usage, monitor size of
a file or folder, check integrity of your files and web site; it tests our SQL servers and
monitors network traffic.
Securing our Cisco network requires reliable configuration backups. By automating Cisco
Archive features regular backup and configuration archives are in place even when a simple
change happens.
Conference Rooms allocation got regulated by implementing Room Mailbox feature of
Exchange server. Now everyone can see the conference room busy/ availability for the next 6
months if needed.
Implementing Shadow Copy feature to secure volume contents and restore much quicker
than backups.
