1.0 Background:: Digital Elevator Control System Chapter: 1: Introduction

This document provides an introduction to a digital elevator control system project. It describes how the project uses microcontrollers to control elevator motor direction and status displays based on the selected floor. The goals of the project are to reduce system complexity, increase use of digital systems, and create a digitally controlled future. The report will be organized into chapters covering the system design, software design, testing methodology, observations, equipment features, and practical tools used.

DIGITAL ELEVATOR CONTROL SYSTEM

CHAPTER: 1: INTRODUCTION

CHAPTER: 1:
INTRODUCTION
1.0

BACKGROUND:

This project comprises of different sections that communicate with each other to perform
control task. One section controls the identifications displays and status signals and other
system controls the motor dimension and also the motor on off. Hence both system
corporate o establish a digital automatic elevator control system. This system is fairly
automatic.

1.0.1 PROJECT DEFINITION:

Digital elevator control system project basically a control system project that controls a
lift cabin according to the floor selected. As describing the concept of the elevator now
this prototype performs the same real time lift task with the help of single motor.

INTODUCTION:

In the present digital world every motor engine system in industries factories or other
public usage devices and goods, each component requires the digital system and user
friendly control points so a human can enter required control points and get the display
information.
Keeping that in mind this project prototype the latest system of digital elevator control
system. In this system the major section is that which controls the display and status
signals which drives the motor interface system. Hence when the system has the status
signal which is been required for the destination the control of motor system changes it
direction and functions.
For this purpose specially designed or instructive microcontroller s are being used so that
they can get the motor information and can drive it motor efficiently and precisely.

GOALS OF THE PROJECT:

DIGITAL ELEVATOR CONTROL SYSTEM

CHAPTER: 1: INTRODUCTION

Our goals of the project set the solution of the needs of this time period. So

we shall be designing and implementing a motor efficient control over digital and
accurate bases
The reason why we chose this project was that it would help us to apply the
knowledge of most of the core courses of electronics that we have studied so far. E.g.
Electronics, Microcontroller Interfacing mechanical and digital interfaces.
Major goals that we will be achieving are as follows:

1.3

To reduce the complexity of the systems due to analog systems already

installed.
To increase the use of the digital systems so that it cheapens the structure.
To make a digital controlled future.

STRATEGY OF THE PROJECT:

1.4

The dimension control of motor is controlled by the relays those which have
the ideal time period for on/off.
We also use the PIC microcontroller hence the system would work best and
efficiently.

BENEFITS:

The main advantage of digital elevator control system is it can be controllable

by any person and also anytime and no need to make experiments just make
value and get result.
There is no requirement of fixed protocols therefore it can be installed at any
location.
Changing the coding of micro controller can change behavior of the system.
