I would like to greatly thank my mentor, Mr. Anupam Vaid who motivated me throughout
my internship to work hard and work at my best level, also eventually helping me to
make this Summer Internship Report.
I could not have asked for more, as he invested all his energy and time to teach me
about how the real business is done, and to give me the liberty to make mistakes and
learn from them.
Also, I would thank my family immensely, to believe in me and supporting me
throughout, to make my own decisions.
It was an amazing experience due to all them above.
Executive Summary
This report consists of my whole experience of doing an internship with Travel To Learn.
It tells about the companys profile, the scope of the business, the limitations as well as
the advantages that the company held. It also briefly covers each and every instance
that made me learn something about the business and its problems, also providing an
idea of how such problems were to be solved.
It majorly covers the whole area that was worked upon by me. It consists of the
information of the role that I played while my internship and how I benefitted my
company.
With 1.1 billion tourists expected to have travelled across the globe in 2015, tourism has
managed to grow despite the global economic crisis. The spurt in the travel industry is
making both entrepreneurs and investors eye this segment.
This is something which fascinated me to go into the field of travel, and do my internship
in that field.
As we provided study educational tours, we were not even just another travel agency,
which is one of the reasons for me to choose Travel To Learn.

Chapter 1: Introduction
Travel to Learn
At Travel to learn we partner with International Leaders in Education from USA, UK,
SPAIN & TURKEY, to offer students a varied & unprecedented opportunities in
EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING that range from Science to Sports!!
The company focused on making exceptional study tour packages which would require
the students to go to abroad for a few days, (generally 9-10 days), and stay, learn and
travel that place.
According to the package, the students would go to places for various reasons.
Some of the programs that we offered included going abroad for sports training, or on
an exchange program, or a French Immersion program, or a performing arts program
etc.
We had a great variety of programs, ranging from sports to science so that no student
would feel out of place if one had an interest in sports or science.
The company was started by my mentor, Mr. Anupam Vaid, about 4 years ago. It has
seen competition as well as tremendous growth since then. Crossing through all the ups
and downs it has finally reached a state of stability. At this day, it has various loyal
clients throughout the globe.
It was Mr. Anupams great communication skills that brought him here. This was
something that he taught me as well. He would say, with great communication, you can
create miracles.
It was way too truly said, as in this kind of business, we had to make sure that our
clients realize what exactly it that we are offering to them is. Not only this, being a
marketing students I also realized that it was not only very important for us to
communicate our programs, but also, to influence various clients to take up our
programs.

Finally, when I got a little free with making all the presentations and assisting with the
posters, I was handed the task of setting up meetings.
And so, I began with my work by starting to place calls. With the help of other staff
there, I got my hands on the database of our clients, which provided me with the contact
details of various schools here in Indore as well as other cities.
I observed my boss making phone calls and adapted his tone, words pitch and tricks
while making my own calls.
I learnt the protocol of how to start a conversation and finally come to the point where I
would tell them why I am calling.
After making, what I would call a dozen phone calls, I finally learnt the trick. Now, I was
prepared and almost ready to answer all the questions that the receiver at the other end
of the phone would be interested to ask me.
I would keep the details of the program on my computer screen, so that I dont lose
track while talking on the phone and sharing information.
I got various responses like:

3. Long Term:
Students who participate in 'exchanges' find themselves more comfortable in foreign
environments.
Prospective Universities & Colleges in almost every field look favorably upon
experience
gained while living overseas and knowledge obtained of another language and culture.
Increased pressure to communicate and relate to others develops an awareness of
group dynamics and personal sensitivity towards others
Successful program completion represents an excellent measure of personal flexibility,
encompassing an ability to reach compromise, focus and succeed through challenging
times.
Chapter 4: Conclusion
In my conclusion, I would just say that it was a great experience altogether. I got to learn
so much, for which I thank my mentor, Mr. Anupam Vaid, for his supervision and wise
communications with me all along.
He did not only teach me about business, but a lot more about life, and how I am now
responsible to make my decisions.
He is the best mentor one could have asked for. He strictly believed in appreciating as
well as complaining when the work was not done u to the mark.
He invested a lot of his precious time familiarizing me with the tricks and facts of
business, which I would treasure for a lifetime.
The whole time I served there, I was given a very comfortable work environment. No
matter how many and what all questions I asked him, he always had time for answering
all of them.
He invoked my passion for brilliant English, making me discover myself.
I greatly thank Prestige Institute of Management and Research for making it a
compulsion for me to find an internship, which led to me, utilizing my vacations in the
best possible manner.
I would never forget this experience and the things I learnt while working there.
Some recommendations:
While working there, I realized that my firm was just facing a very basic and famous
problem, of branding.
I recommended my boss, to make efforts in the area of advertising and creating a brand
name in Indore, so that the schools would at least get familiar with company before we
start influencing them.
As he thought of my recommendation as a good and logical one, he made the effort and
got an advertisement published in The Hindustan Times, which greatly benefitted our
business.
Rest all, was perfect.
