information of the role that I played while my internship and how I benefitted my
company.
With 1.1 billion tourists expected to have travelled across the globe in 2015, tourism has
managed to grow despite the global economic crisis. The spurt in the travel industry is
making both entrepreneurs and investors eye this segment.
This is something which fascinated me to go into the field of travel, and do my internship
in that field.
As we provided study educational tours, we were not even just another travel agency,
which is one of the reasons for me to choose Travel To Learn.

seen competition as well as tremendous growth since then. Crossing through all the ups

It was Mr. Anupams great communication skills that brought him here. This was
something that he taught me as well. He would say, with great communication, you can

It was way too truly said, as in this kind of business, we had to make sure that our
clients realize what exactly it that we are offering to them is. Not only this, being a
marketing students I also realized that it was not only very important for us to
communicate our programs, but also, to influence various clients to take up our

Chapter 3: Main Issue

The main area that I worked upon was communicating.

Communicating, all of the programs and packages that we offered to various schools,
was the objective assigned to me by my reporting manager. My role, was majorly to call
up schools in Indore, and arrange meetings with their Principals and to tell them about
our offers.
Initially I was caught up with the work of making power point presentations about our
upcoming tour packages.
While my time there, I made a few presentations of tours like:
1. The Global school to school exchange program to Spain
2. The Cricket tour to South Africa
3. The Football tour to Barcelona
Not only was I given the task to make the presentations but also, to help with the
designing of the posters of the same.
In this process I learnt a lot of things like:
1. How to make professional presentations.
2. How to increase my research skills.
3. In which way would the pictures and graphics be more appealing?
I also got the opportunity to learn about all such places while I was researching on them
for the purpose of my presentations.
Not only this, but while having casual conversations with my boss, I got to know a lot
more information that he would share about:

1.
2.
3.
4.

What type of language to be used while talking to a client.

What all questions would I be faced with while talking to client.
How to cleverly influence my client.
How to type official emails when, the same is the source of communication.

Finally, when I got a little free with making all the presentations and assisting with the
posters, I was handed the task of setting up meetings.
And so, I began with my work by starting to place calls. With the help of other staff
there, I got my hands on the database of our clients, which provided me with the contact
details of various schools here in Indore as well as other cities.
I observed my boss making phone calls and adapted his tone, words pitch and tricks
while making my own calls.
I learnt the protocol of how to start a conversation and finally come to the point where I
would tell them why I am calling.
After making, what I would call a dozen phone calls, I finally learnt the trick. Now, I was
prepared and almost ready to answer all the questions that the receiver at the other end
of the phone would be interested to ask me.
I would keep the details of the program on my computer screen, so that I dont lose
track while talking on the phone and sharing information.
I got various responses like:
1.
2.
3.
4.

Please call later.

Various questions about the program.
Please email us the information.
Please come and meet us, so we can discuss it further.

I responded to all of them, accordingly.

Making calls to everyone was a little impractical, and so we also used the method of
mail merge to communicate our programs. We would then make phone calls to the
respondents.
I would then, meet principals and share about our packages with them.
This taught me a great deal of how to hold meetings with such high post holding
officials. It increased my confidence by a 100 percent.

fostering an appreciation of home and family.

group dynamics and personal sensitivity towards others
Successful program completion represents an excellent measure of personal flexibility,
encompassing an ability to reach compromise, focus and succeed through challenging
times.

Chapter 4: Conclusion

In my conclusion, I would just say that it was a great experience altogether. I got to learn
so much, for which I thank my mentor, Mr. Anupam Vaid, for his supervision and wise
communications with me all along.
He did not only teach me about business, but a lot more about life, and how I am now
responsible to make my decisions.
He is the best mentor one could have asked for. He strictly believed in appreciating as
well as complaining when the work was not done u to the mark.
He invested a lot of his precious time familiarizing me with the tricks and facts of
business, which I would treasure for a lifetime.

The whole time I served there, I was given a very comfortable work environment. No
matter how many and what all questions I asked him, he always had time for answering
all of them.
He invoked my passion for brilliant English, making me discover myself.
I greatly thank Prestige Institute of Management and Research for making it a
compulsion for me to find an internship, which led to me, utilizing my vacations in the
best possible manner.
I would never forget this experience and the things I learnt while working there.
Some recommendations:
While working there, I realized that my firm was just facing a very basic and famous
problem, of branding.
I recommended my boss, to make efforts in the area of advertising and creating a brand
name in Indore, so that the schools would at least get familiar with company before we
start influencing them.
As he thought of my recommendation as a good and logical one, he made the effort and
got an advertisement published in The Hindustan Times, which greatly benefitted our
business.
Rest all, was perfect.
