TYPES OF PROBLEM COVERED BY THIS PROPOSED GUIDANCE PROGRAM FOR GRADE SCHOOL STUDENTS
There are various and unavoidable problems that affect the students academic performance which lead to disintegration of interest, passivity,
and lack of awareness towards goal. Students having these conditions shall be given attention and high regard to avoid the risk of misbehavior within
the society. From the book Fundamentals of Guidance and Counseling written by Kapunan, he summarized the collected problems from prominent
educators and psychologists and come up with this compilation (written in general classification):

PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED IN DJPRES
Among those eight general aspects of problems covered by guidance, few of them should be given focus which requires appropriate plans
and solutions. General problems such as Personality, School, and Social (moral and civic) are considerably ongoing issues in DJPRES. In line to the
four major problems, some specific problems encountered by the school and students are as follows:
1. Lack of interest in studies
2. Low academic performance and competence

3. Lack of awareness in school directives and policies
4. Low self esteem and motivation toward studies
5. Low parent participation on school activities.
6. Lack of manpower and skills to facilitate interventions for student issues.
7. Participation and cooperation in school activities
8. Passivity towards competition and lack of assertiveness
These eight problems are complicated issues but these programs are aimed to explore them and provide timely and relevant interventions. The
programs themselves are designed to further identify the root-cause of these existing problems and at the same time conduct creative and
worthwhile activities.
DJPRES GUIDANCE PROGRAM PROPOSAL
Upon determining the problems encountered by the school and students, the program developer proposed a one-year guidance program to
address the needs for development and progress of the school and uplift the morale of the students and promote a sense of leadership towards
academic excellence.
The first phase aims to awaken and stir up the minds of students who are disoriented about the importance of education. The guidance
department in coordination with the school administration will hold a by-semester orientation for students to discuss the school directives and policies

and to motivate students to attend and participate in all relevant school activities. In this sense, they will be inspired to study under the custody of
their new teacher. Providing them proper attention is an immense way of arousing their interest and helps them show their best.
The second phase is more of putting a challenge for students to push trough with their potentials by joining educational competitions in class
and inter-class competition. The Grade 2 Salyut 1 will sponsor some quiz bee and academic-related contest that would challenge the students to
study harder and enhance their cognitive abilities. Consequently, the Guidance Department will collaborate to all teachers to give merit and reward
for students who will show high levels of class performance. Through this approach, each class shall promote a healthy competition and a sense of
dedication towards study.
The third phase will focus on establishing harmonious rapport between the students, administrators, and the guidance department. By doing
so, they shall be part of the meaningful events that the school would facilitate. It will also provide high regard for their necessities that are aimed to
establish good consensus and understanding among the DJPRES community.
The fourth phase was inspired from the famous axiom Leaders are made not born. This program will stimulate students leadership potentials
through seminars and workshops headed by guest speakers to impart some motivational ideas and knowledge towards leadership.
