Course Title: PRODUCT DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT


Course Description: This is a one semester course that aims to orient students about the importance of product design
and development in any industry and how to make design concepts using the various method for manufacturing processes.
Learner Description:

Learners of this course are 4th year Industrial Engineering students.

Learning Objectives/Outcome: At the end of this course the learner should be able to:
1. Understand the importance of product design and development in any industry;
2. Explain engineering design and the different types of design problems to be able to describe product components;
3. Create option design concepts using various methods of manufacturing processes, implement design for
manufacturing guidelines and evaluate alternative pattern.
