Investment Analyst

Job Description
The Investment Analyst is a junior research/support position that provides technical support for
t h e I n v e s t m e n t D e p a r t m e n t at WMS Partners.
Duties and Responsibilities I nclude:

Assist Research Analysts and Portfolio Managers in preparing investment research reports
for the firms Investment Committee
Execute client trades through the firms custodians
Maintain the firms portfolio rebalancing software
Use Morningstar, Value Line, and other research software to screen for new investment
ideas and maintain due diligence on existing holdings
Maintain the firms investment model spreadsheets
Sit in on Investment Committee meetings and maintain the Committees meeting log
Complete Special projects as needed

The Investment Analyst is meant to be a support role with mentoring from Research Analysts,
Portfolio Managers, and other investment professionals at WMS. This position has limited decisionmaking authority on client matters but successful associates will earn more client and portfolio
management responsibility with experience and tenure at WMS Partners.
Desired Skills and Experience

Excellent written and oral communication skills


Client first attitude, professional demeanor, personal integrity and an understanding of
fiduciary responsibility
Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
Self-motivated, confident, detail-oriented, and analytical
Willingness to take on additional operational responsibilities as needed
Demonstrated knowledge of various securities markets
Familiarity with the Tamarac Advisor Xi software

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with a demonstrated desire or


progress toward the CFA designation
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Previous work experience within the financial services industry is desired

Salary and Benefits:
