BUKIDNON
The name bukidnon means highlander or mountain dweller.
Bukidnon is considered to be the food basket of Mindanao.
The major producer of rice and corn in the region.
Plantations in the province also produce pineapples, bananas and
sugarcane

CAMIGUIN
Camiguin is the most visited tourist spot in region 10.
Their economy is based on Fishing and farming.
Copra agriculture is their greatest source of income .
Hamonada is Camiguins special food. The pork is marinated by
pineapple juice which makes it very sweet and delicious.

LANAO DEL NORTE
The Land of Beauty and Bounty
The province borders Lanao del Sur to the southeast, Zamboanga del
Surto the west, Illana Bay to the southwest, Iligan Bay to the
north, Iligan City to the northeast, and is separated from Misamis
Occidental by Panguil Bay to the northwest.
Economy:
is predominantly based on agriculture & fishing.

MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL
the name MISAMIS is believed to have been derived from the
Subanen word Kuyamis which is a variety of sweet coconut the
staple food of the early settlers in this place.
known to its neighbors for beautiful waters and bountiful fish and
seafood for export
Economy
The province economy depends firstly on fishing, secondly on
coconuts, thirdly on rice.
The province has 169 kilometers of coastline fronting the rich
fishing grounds of Panguil and Iligan bays.
It also has the biggest area of brackish-water fishponds in the
region. Tangub City is a fishing port on Panguil Bay famous for
seafoods.
Coconut is the chief crop. This is processed into oil, desiccated
coconut, and coir, most of which are shipped to Cebu. Coconut
processing is the main industry in Oroquieta City.
Other crops grown are rice, corn, abaca, coffee, cacao and
rubber.

MISAMIS ORIENTAL
Cagayan de Oro City, the capital, is a highly-urbanized city that
governs itself independently from the province.
Cagayan de Oro is popularly known as the City of Golden Friendship.
Economy:
The province is host to industries such as agricultural, forest,
steel, metal, chemical, mineral, rubber and food processing.
It is home to the 30 square kilometre PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate
and
the
Mindanao
International
Container
Port,
all
in Tagoloan. Del Monte Philippines, which exports pineapples all
over the Asia-Pacific region, has a processing plant in Cagayan
de Oro

POWER AND WATER
Bukidnons Pulangi River System and Agus River provides the whole
region with hydroelectric power.
TRANSPORTATION
Land, air and water transport are available in the region. Inter-island ships
and airlines service passengers to and from Manila, Cebu, Zamboanga
and other island provinces. Majority of the towns and cities in the regions
mainland provinces are linked by fine road networks.
Buses
Jeepney are the main land transport.
INFORMATION
Telecommunication towers on the mountain tops of Bukidnon link
Mindanao with the rest of the world.
There are five major land-based phone companies MisOrTel, PLDTPhilCom, Smart Broadband (formerly CruzTelCo), BayanTel and ItalTel
serving the city.
Mobile phone services are provided by Globe Telecom, Smart
Communications and Sun Cellular.
There are several internet companies operating in the city offering dial up,
broadband, Wi-Fi and cable services.
Pueblo de Oro Business IT Park located in Upper Carmen is the first

PEZA-registered IT park in Mindanao.
The IT Park currently houses one of Cagayan de Oro's call centers.
