Ilaro Prospectus 2015
Ilaro Prospectus 2015
Ilaro Prospectus 2015
comprehensive detail of the prospectus of an institution like the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro,
Ogun State becomes imperative, when it is viewed against the backdrop of its vision
statement, which is to be a market leader in the provision of technically skilled manpower for
Nigeria.
Since her establishment by Decree 33 of July 25, 1979, the Polytechnic has witnessed tremendous
growth and development, both physically and academically. However, in this prospectus, the aim
has been to introduce you to services of the institution as well as to the variety of courses. The
Polytechnic has strong links with industry, business and the professionals and with the local
community of the town and members of staff and students are constantly involved in academic
projects to meet the needs of the country.
The range of courses which can be studied at the polytechnic is extensive. Courses are divided into
five schools, applied science and technology, engineering, environmental studies, management
studies, and agricultural science and engineering.
Ag. Rector
Our vision in the polytechnic is to be a leading world-class institution that is committed to raising a
new generation of leaders. This is because we have developed unique programmers, right from
inception that imbue our students with uncommon skills and competences in line with our vision.
The polytechnic's homegrown programme for mentoring students and addressing essential student issues makes our institution a home
away from home for students, especially those who are leaving home for the first time. Also, our teaching and learning environments are
very empowering with well-stocked libraries and laboratories as well as workshops including an unrestricted access to the internet for
study and research purposes.
The institution is a community of 3,793 full-time and 2,055 part-time students as well as 557 academic and non-teaching members of
staff.
This is coupled with an aggressive landscaping programme that transversed the length and breadth of the institution with considerable
measure of success. Besides, this the polytechnic can boast of sufficiently furnished club house, guest house and a number of registered
social clubs on the campus has put an icing on the cake of the social life on the campus. The polytechnic equally provides a variety of
student services and standard facilities for sports and recreation, medical care and worship on the campus.
However, vital and detailed information contained in this prospectus will afford the students the opportunity to study and read ahead of
their lectures schedules because the course modules for all the programmes run in the polytechnic are contained in the prospectus.
The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro is a stimulating town in which to live and study.
Therefore, with a deep sense of humility, employers of labour come to recruit our students before graduation. This is an attestation to the
employability of our graduates.
