SCADA TECHNOLOGIST

CIMA+ is currently seeking for a SCADA Engineering Technologist who will be working on electrical
utility and renewable energy projects: Powerhouses, transmission and distribution electrical
substations throughout Ontario (office presently located in Vaughan, but will be relocating in
Mississauga in the fall of 2015).

Responsibilities

Ability to define/understand Scope range and design criteria's;

Ability to prepare DBM, specification and other related documents;

Material/equipment selection, and system design;

HMIs selection and programming;

PLC's and/or RTU selection, control logic, I/O mapping, programming;

Prepare Logic, front/back view panel DWGs, interconnection DWGs;

Site Visit, testing procedures, problem solving, commissioning, field takeoff;

In relation with its discipline, involved with planning, scheduling and estimating (Engineering and
Construction);

Perform regular documented reviews, maintain monthly progress report, and issue updates accordingly;

Implement Health and Safety measures according to OHSA.

Qualifications

A minimum of 3 years of related professional experience as a SCADA engineering technologist;

Experience in engineering consulting will be considered an asset;

Able to function successfully as a team player in a multi-disciplinary environment;

Electrical utility and renewable energy experience preferred, and specifically, experience with Control and
Telecontrol systems;

Work with diverse teams of talented engineers, designers and drafters from project concept to construction
and commissioning;

Specific experience with the following product is not mandatory but an asset;

GE RTU D20/D200 Substation controllers;

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) RTAC / Axion conrtollers;

GE iFIX, Wonderware, Schneider Electric Unity Pro and Schneider Electric Concept;

Knowledge of network managed switch and router configurations;

Knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN), Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN), Wide Area Network (WAN),
VPN, MPLS design;

Knowledge in communication protocols (i.e. DNP 3.0, MODBUS TCP/IP, SERIAL, ect..) and communication
medium RS-232, RS-485, Ethernet, Fiber Optics;

Substation, small and/or big hydroelectric generation, solar farm projects and thermal generation experience
will be considered an asset;

Excellent verbal and written communication skill in English;

Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microstation is a plus;

Understand and solve problems related with the IEDs;

Work in a multidisciplinary team environment that fosters career development and is goal-directed;

Exceptional time-management skills ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks quickly;

Ability to work with remote employees.
