SODERN CNA-CEMENT
Benefits of a cross-belt
analyzer in your process
Quarry Management
Installation of a Sodern CNA-Cement at the quarry makes it
possible to safely maximize the use of lower grade materials
(and conserve premium grade materials) by preblending
before the stockpile. This can significantly increase the
lifetime of the quarry.
Stockpile optimization
A Sodern CNA ahead of the stockpile ensures that pile quality
targets are met, the chemical variation is reduced, and
minimal correction is required upon reclaim.
Raw mix control
Using the Sodern CNA-Cement to monitor the raw mix
chemistry at one minute intervals allows for the immediate
correction of source proportioning ratios with no mill
transport delay. This results in the maximum possible
reduction in chemical variation of the kiln feed.
Cost saving opportunities
Replacing a sampling tower
Reducing laboratory cost and preparation labor
Improving grinding efficiency while reducing energy cost to
grind
Improving lifetime of kiln refractory
Reducing use of additives
Extending quarry life
Stability
The Sodern CNAs comprehensive factory calibration is
guaranteed to be drift free. The rate of neutron generation
is fully controlled and never changes over the lifetime of
the tube, thus the same level of analytical performance
is maintained. This stability eliminates the need for the
laborious and expensive routine recalibrations that are
required with radioactive isotope-based systems.
Modular design
The Sodern CNAs modular design makes it easy to install and
service, guaranteeing that down time is kept to an absolute
minimum.

Safety
In addition, the electric
neutron source does
not present the kind of
hazardous waste issues
that are unavoidable with
radioactive isotope based
analyzers.
Flexibility in software
solutions
CNA Control software is supported on both Microsoft
Windows XP and Windows 7 and is specifically designed for
cement applications. With the ability to examine current
and past analyses as well as analysis trends and estimated
compositions of a given batch or pile, the basic software can
be used for simple pile building or raw mix control. The data
collection software is also compatible with more sophisticated
pile building and raw mix control software from other
vendors.
