Lubuntu,thankstoitsUbuntubasewillworkfineonyourolderhardware.SincethereareLTSversionof
Lubuntuyoucaninstall14.04onamachineanditwillgetsupportfor3yearsnoneedtoupgradeitevery
sixmonths.Ifyourhardwareisinservicethenextthreeyearsyoucaneasilyupgradetothenextversion
withoutreformattingyoursystem.
Herewe'velookedatLinuxdistrosthattakecareofalmosteverycomputingneedwemayhave.Thereis
somethingforeveryoneandthat'snotusingsome"onesizemayfitall"solution.Thesedistrosare

machines.ThatiswhyToriOShasbeenfounded(torios.net)whichismuchlighter
thanLubuntuandbydefault,supportsNONPAEmachines.Nottomention,itdoes
notusethesameinstallerthatLubuntuisusingsoitdoesnotneedbiggerRAMto
beinstalled.ItisbuiltfromUbuntuMiniISOandrequires60MBRAMwhenidle.
