LIX 860-I
Solvent Extraction Reagent

Description LIX 860-I, 5-dodecylsalicylaldoxime in a high flash point hydrocarbon diluent,

is a very strong copper extractant requiring more than 225 g/l H2SO4 for
stripping.

Principal uses LIX 860-I can be blended with LIX 84-I over a broad range to give copper
extraction reagents of variable extractive strength. It extracts copper
according to the equation below:
2RH(org) + Cu+2(aq)

R2Cu(org) + 2H+

(aq)

Typical properties

LIX 860-I will also extract zinc from ammoniacal solutions.
