RECAP: LF Franklin Gutierrez hit 2 home runs and starter Jordan Pries allowed only 1 earned run over 7.0 innings as Tacoma defeated Salt
Lake 5-2 on Tuesday night. Gutierrez (2x3, 3 R, 2 HR, 3 RBI, BB) hit his 3rd and 4th home runs of the season with a 2-run blast in the 2nd
inning ad and solo home run to lead off the 4th inning. SS Ketel Marte (2x5, SB) and C John Baker (2x4, RBI) each recorded 2-hit games,
while CF James Jones (1x5), DH Stefen Romero (1x4, BB, SB), 1B Jesus Montero (1x5, 2 R, 3B) and RF Patrick Kivlehan (1x4, SB) each
collected 1 of the Rainiers 10 hits. Pries (7.0,5,2,1,1,5) allowed 2 runs (1 ER) on 5 hits over 7.0 innings to earn his 3rd win of the season. RH
Forrest Snow (2.0,1,0,0,0,0) picked up his first save of the season after allowing only 1 hit over 2.0 scoreless innings in relief. It was Snows
10th career save and first since Sept. 2, 2010 vs. Beloit when he was a member of the Clinton LumberKings.
OF NOTE:

Since April 22, the Rainiers relievers have allowed only 8 runs (7 ER) over 43.1 innings in relief (1.45 ERA). During this stretch they have
limited opponents to a .205 (33x161) average, while walking 6 and striking out 44. Overall the Rainiers relievers are 3-7 with 7 saves and
a 2.875 ERA (29 ER, 95.0 IP) in 26 games.

The Rainiers need 5 victories to record 4,000 all-time franchise wins. Since 1960, Tacoma has put together a record of 3,995-3,973. The

HULTZEN STARTING: LH Danny Hultzen made his season debut with AA Jackson on May 1 vs. vs. Pensacola. He allowed 1 run (0 ER) on
3 hits over 3.1 innings, but did not factor into the Generals 8-3 win. He walked 1 and struck out 4, while throwing 56 pitches, 38 strikes. He
appeared in 1 game with the Mariners during Spring Training on March 11 vs. Colorado, allowing only 1 walk in 1.0 scoreless inning in relief.
Hultzen will be making his first start with an affiliated team since Sept. 1, 2013 vs. Sacramento, while on the AAA Tacoma Rainiers roster. He
missed all of the 2014 season after having left shoulder surgery on Oct. 1, 2013 to clean up his labrum and a partial tear of the rotator cuff and
repaired the capsule. Hultzen was the Mariners first round selection (2nd overall) in the 2011 First-Year MLB Player Draft. In 2 minor league
seasons (2012-13), he is 14-8 with a 2.82 ERA (50 ER, 159. 2 IP) in 32 starts. He has made 18 starts with AA Jackson between 2012-13,
going 5-5 with a 4.42 ERA (39 ER, 79.1 IP).
OF NOTE:

OF Dario Pizzano, who did not play yesderday, currently has a 15-game hitting streak, batting, .435 (27x62) with 7 runs scored, 2
doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 7 RBI, 2 walks and 2 stolen bases. His 15-game hitting streak is currently tied for the longest streak in the
league this season and the longest active streak. Overall this season he has hit safely in 17 of 18 games this season, batting .420 (29x69)
with 7 runs scored, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 8 RBI, 4 walks and 2 stolen base.
o Pizzano 15-game hit streak is T2nd-longest in his career and trails only his career-high 19-game hit streak set in 2013 while a
member of the LumberKings (19 G, 8/7-25/13 w/Clinton).

INF Jack Reinheimer has hit safely in 3 of 4 games in May, batting .353 (6x17) with 4 runs scored, 1 double, 1 RBI, 2 walks and 1 stolen
base.

C Steven Baron has hit safely in 7 of his 8 games, including 5 straight games. Since April 26, Baron is batting .409 (9x22) with 7 runs
scored, 2 doubles, 3 RBI, 5 walks and 1 stolen base.

OF Jordy Lara has recorded back-to-back games with 3 RBI after driving on only 3 runs in his first 19 games of the season.

After not recording a RBI in his first 8 games of the season, INF D.J. Peterson has driven in 10 over the last 13 games. Since April 25,
Peterson has hit safely in 4 of 8 games with 4 multi-hit contests, batting .321 (9x28) with 7 runs scored, 3 doubles, 1 home run, 7 RBI, 2
walks and 1 stolen base.
o Peterson set a season-high with 4 RBI on May 1 vs. Pensacola. It was his 9th career game with at least 4 RBI (last: 5, 9/1/14 at
Montgomery w/AA Jackson). His career-high is 5 RBI (done 2x: 5/23/14 at Bakersfield w/High Desert and 9/1/14 at Montgomery
w/Jackson).

In his first 4 career starts, RH Misael Siverio is 1-1 with a 2.11 ERA (5 ER, 21.1 IP). He has limited opponents to a .167 (13x78) average,
while walking 7 and striking out 18.

LH James Gillheeney made his first start of the season on April 30 vs. Pensacola after appering in 5 games in relief to start the season.
Overall he is 2-1 with a 1.65 ERA (3 ER, 16.1 IP) in 6 games, 5 starts. He has limited opponents to a .246 (16x65) average, while walking
7 and striking out 10.

After allowing 3 runs on April 22, RH Tony Zych has allowed only 2 hits over his last 5.0 scoreless innings (5 G). During this stretch he is
2-for-2 in save opprotunities, while walking 0 and striking out 3.

RECAP: The Blaze scored a run on a sacrifice fly by DH Marcus Littlewood in the 4th inning to tie the game 1-1, but it wasnt enough as
Modesto walked off with a 2-1 win over Bakersfield on Tuesday night. Starter Edwin Diaz (6.0,5,1,1,0,7,HR) allowed 1 run (HR in 1st) on 5 hits
and struck out 7 over 6.0 innings, but did not factor into the decision. LH Will Mathis (2.0,3,0,0,0,2) allowed 3 hits and struck out 2 over
scoreless 7th and 8th innings, while RH Emilio Pagan (1.2,1,1,1,0,1) recorded the loss after allowing a run with 2 outs in the bottom of the
10th inning. LF/RF Tyler ONeill (1x4), RF Austin Wilson (1x3 BB), 3B Jay Baum (1x4) and SS Martin Peguero (1x4) each collected 1 of the
teams 4 hits.
OF NOTE:

RHP Ryan Yarbrough allowed a run in the first inning snapping a sting of 17.0 scoreless innings over his previous 3 starts (dating back to
the first inning on April 15 vs. Modesto). Overall this season he is 2-2 with a 3.51 ERA (10 ER, 25.2 IP) in 5 starts with Bakersfield.
Yarbrough has limited opponents to a .250 (24x96) average, while walking 4 and striking out 17.

RHP Edwin Diaz has allowed only 1 run over his last 3 starts, going 1-0 with a 0.52 ERA (1 ER, 17.1 IP) in 3 starts. Overall this season,

RECAP: LF Estarlyn Morales hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 9th inning, but the LumberKings rally fell short as Clinton fell to Peoria 1-2
on Tuesday night. CF Chantz Mack (2x4) recorded the teams only multi-hit game, while SS Nelson Ward (1x4, R, 2B), RF Alex Jackson
(1x4) and C Daniel Torres (1x3) each collected 1 of the LumberKings 5 hits. Starter Jeffeson Medina (6.0,3,2,2,3,3) recorded his 3rd loss of
the season, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits in 6.0 innings. 3B Gianfranco Wawoe went 0-for-4 snapping his hitting streak at 17 games. RH Osmer
Morales (0.2,0,0,2,1) and LH Jarrett Brown (2.1,2,0,0,0,1) combined to hold the Chiefs scoreless over the final 3.0 innings in relief.
MISSAKI PITCHER OF THE WEEK: RH Daniel Missaki was named Midwest League Pitcher of the Week, April 27-May 4. In his only start
this week, Missaki was the part of a combined no-hitter as Clinton defeated Cedar Rapids 2-0 on May 1. He allowed only 1 walk, while striking
out 7 in 7.0 no-hit innings (see note below for more info on Clintons no-hitter). Overall this season, Missaki is 1-1 with a 3.68 ERA (12 ER, 29.1
IP) in 5 starts with Clinton. He has limited opponents to a .243 (27x111) average, while walking 4 and striking out 30.
NO HITTER: Starter Daniel Missaki and relievers Kody Kerski and Troy Scott combined to throw the LumberKings 23rd no-hitter in
franchise history as Clinton shutout Cedar Rapids 2-0 on May 1. It was the first combined no-hitter for Clinton since 1996, and the first in club
history to feature more than 2 pitchers. Missaki (7.0,0,0,0,1,7) earned his first win of the season, allowing only 1 walk and striking out 7 in 7.0
no-hit innings. He retired 20 batters in a row, before allowing a 2-out walk to Trey Vavra in the bottom of the 7th inning. Kerski (1.0,0,0,0,0,2)
struck out 2 of 3 batters faced in the 8th inning, while Scott (1.0,0,0,0,1,1) issued 1 walk and struck out 1 to earn his first save of the season.
RH Victor Sanchez (7/17/13 vs. Lansing) and LH Jordan Shipers (7/11/12) were the most recent Mariners farmhands to throw a no-hitter
with the LumberKings.
OF NOTE:

LH Pat Peterson recorded his 4th win in his last 4 starts. Overall this seaon Peterson is 4-1 with a 1.01 ERA (3 ER, 26.2 IP) in 5 starts
with Clinton. He has limited opponents to .233 (24x103) average, while walking 6 and striking out 28.
o Peteron struck out 10 batters in 5.0 IP on April 28 vs. Wisconsin, tying his career high (8/19/14 at Danville w/Pulaski, 6.0,2,0,0,2,10).

INF Gianfranco Wawoe went 0-for-4 on May 5 vs. Peoria, snapping his hitting streak at 17 games. During the streak he hit .371 (23x62)

o Wawoes 17-game hitting streak is the longest in his career (previous: 8G, 6/10-10/13 w/VSL Mariners). It is also the longest hitting
streak in the Midwest League this season.

OF Chantz Mack is batting .462 (6x13) with 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk in 4 games in May.

RH Kody Kerski has not allowed a run in 7.0 innings in relief this season. He has limited opponents to a .143 (3x21) average, while
walking 1 and striking out 7.
