mentioned before.
A man and a woman came to
see you this morning.
- we are not referring to a
particular thing:
Im looking for a job (not a
particular job)
- we talk about jobs: Hes a
doctor
- we use the expressions:
once a week, twice a day,
12 a kilo I practise karate
three times a month
- we refer to what kind of thing
something is: The sun is a
star (one of many)

We use THE:
- when we talk about a

- when it is clear in the
