GOT Program Restore Using GT Designer3

This document provides instructions for restoring all program files to a GOT (Graphic Operation Terminal) using GT Designer 3 software. How To Procedure
GOT Program Restore using GT Designer 3
Revision: A
Purpose: To restore all program files to the GOT

Required Tools:

PC with GT Designer 3 installed


Generic USB Mini B cable

Consumable Parts:

None

Task 1: Connect the USB MINI B cable between PCs USB port and GT1000 Front USB port.
When cable is connected for the first time the USB Driver will automatically be installed.

Task 2: Open the GT Designer3 back up saved Project File from hard drive location and double click on
the [*.GTW] file.

Task 3: Select the communication method


Step1: Follow this step to set the communication Method to connect the personal computer to the GOT
with a USB cable.
a) Select [Communication Configuration] from the Communication Menu.

b) Select [USB]

c) Click on the [Test] Button


d) The following Window should appear. If it does not, disconnect the USB cable from PC and
reconnnect to try again. Click on the [OK] button to close.

e) Click on the [OK] button to close Communication Configuration Window.

Task4: Write to GOT


Step 1: From the [Communication] Menu, Select [Write to GOT]

Step 2: Click the [OK] Button, USB should be the Communication method selected.

Step 3: Click the [GOT Write] button. All other items should be kept at Default as shown here except the
two items below.
1. If a Compact Flash Card is installed and the Project Files are too large to fit in the [C:
Built-in Flash Memory], Select [A: Standard CF Card] in the Destination Drive
Selection. Item a.
2. If this is a NEW GOT, the selection [Include required OS in the project data] must also
be selected. Item b.

Step 4: The following Window will appear.

Click the [YES] button to continue


When Finished the following window will appear and the GOT Hardware will Reboot itself.

Click the [OK] button to continue

The Communicate with GOT Window will now appear and show you the Write Data Size and the
Write Drive Information.

Step 5: Click the [Close] button

Task5: Recycle the GOT Power


If the GOT prompts you to Cycle Power do so at this time. Otherwise the Restore procedure is
complete.
