ComputerLabAcceptableUsePolicy

Staff members who use the lab facilities will ensure that they and their class follow
the following guidelines:
1. Priority use of lab computing equipment is for academic rather than recreational
purposes.
2. Users will respect copyright, slander, libel, anti-discrimination and other
appropriate laws as well as the security and proper functioning of the campus
network.
3. Operate the equipment properly and give care to all components (headphones,
mouse, etc.) Report problems immediately.
4. Do not move the lab equipment and/or cables (This includes mice, headphones,
and microphones).
5. CHAMPS are expected to be followed and enforced in order to monitor student
behavior and noise level.
6. No disruptive behavior will be allowed.
7. Use only the computer you are assigned to. Do not save to the hard drive (C:) of
the computer. Always save to your personal drive (P:).
8. Desktop picture, screensavers and other settings on your computer should be left
alone.
9. If printing, please limit the number of copies for both yourself and your students.
There are other classes that will be using the resources as well.
10. If you are the first class to come into the computer lab please turn on all computers
and monitors.
11. All classes, except for the last class of the day, will need to follow the following
procedure for logging off the computer:
a. Close all windows
b. Log out of the computer

c. Hang up your headphones


d. Push in your chair
e. Teacher- You will complete the sign-in/out sheet located at the main door.
Please ensure that your students have completed the tasks outlined above.
If there are problems or issues with the way the computer lab was left
before you got there, please log it in the appropriate comment box.
12. The last class of the day will follow the same procedure outlined in guideline #11,
but instead of logging out of the computer, they will shut down the computer.
13. If there is a problem with the computer equipment or accessories, please report it
to the technology team immediately via email.
14. Please do not write in the center section of the board because it obstructs the
projector display.
15. Eating and drinking by students and staff members are NOT allowed in the
computer lab. The only acceptable beverage is water in a water bottle.
16. Remember to use your computer lab time wisely. Getting assignments/ projects
