Discover 2014

MapInfo Professional Bundle

QUICK START GUIDE

About the Discover 2014 MapInfo
Professional Bundle
Discover 2014 MapInfo Pro is a software bundle that
combines MapInfo Professional 12.5, Discover 2014,
and Discover 3D (licensed separately) into a single
installation media set and licensed package. The
software bundle delivers the same functionality as the
standalone MapInfo Professional 12.5 and Discover 2014
software packages but has the added advantage of a
simplified installation process with a single license and
activation system to manage all software components.
MapInfo Professional is a powerful mapping and
geographic analysis application, designed to easily
visualise the relationships between data and geography.
MapInfo Professional helps business analysts, planners,
GIS professionals and even non-GIS users to gain new
insights into their markets, share information-rich maps
and graphs and improve strategic decision-making.
Discover is developed especially for geoscientists,
providing a sophisticated and easy-to-use GIS extension
for managing, manipulating, analysing, and displaying
geoscientific data sets in two and three dimensions. A
geologist in the field, an exploration manager in head
office, or a draftsperson in a regional office can use
Discover to track tenement activity, contour point data,
view drillholes in plan and section, analyse geochemical
data, facilitate map creation, easily produce scaled hard
copy output, and much more.
Discover 3D expands the capability of Discover by
enabling you to rapidly visualise, model, and analyse
drillhole and related datasets in 3D, and then
dynamically plan follow-up drilling to test theories and
targets. A basic version of Discover 3D is supplied with
every installation of Discover. To take advantage of the
full range of 3D visualisation, modelling and analytical
tools, you must purchase a separate license for the
Discover 3D module.
