Help
The interactive help systems fully describe the functions
available in MapInfo Professional 12.5 and Discover 2014
and how to apply them to your own data.
User Guides
The user guides are print-friendly versions of the help
system. These electronic manuals can be accessed via
the Discover Help menu.
Tutorials
Tutorials in PDF format can be accessed from the
Discover Help menu. They give step-by-step instructions
on how to solve various common exploration and data
analysis problems.
System Requirements
The Discover 2014 MapInfo Pro Bundle is supported on
Windows 7 SP1 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems,
and Windows 8 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.
This software requires .NET framework 4.0 to be
installed. These components are installed automatically
if the required versions are not detected during
installation.
The Discover 2014 MapInfo Pro Bundle is best used with
a video resolution of 1024 x 768 or better. This software
supports regional settings for numerical data handling
in accordance with the Regional and Language Options
for the Windows operating system.

Before installing
If MapInfo Professional is already installed on the
computer, ensure that only one version (11.0 or
later) is present.
You must have administrator privileges to install
the software.

Software Updates
Discover will automatically provide a notification
when a new update for the software is
available. Alternatively, you can check using the
Discover>Discover Help>Check for Update menu
option within the product at anytime (recommended
after initial installation).
Troubleshooting
Starting Discover manually:
After starting the Discover 2014 MapInfo Pro Bundle ,
if the Discover menu is not displayed on the MapInfo
Professional menu bar, you will need to start Discover
manually.
1. On the MapInfo Professional Tools menu, click Run
MapBasic Program.
2. Browse to the Discover installation folder and
select the Discover.MBX file. The default location
for this file is C:\Program Files (x86)\Encom\
Discover (Windows 7/8).
3. To configure Discover to automatically load
at start-up, on the Discover menu, click
Configuration, and select the option to
Automatically start Discover when MapInfo starts.
