Auxiliary Cooling Water System
Auxiliary Cooling Water System
It provides a continuous supply of cooling water for removing heat rejected by the
components like oil coolers, alternator air coolers, air compressors and some boiler
auxiliaries. Heat exchange will be done in between the components and the auxiliary cooling
water and now the flow will sent to cooling tower where water is cooled to certain
temperature and thus the process continues.
Ash handling refers to the method of collection, conveying, interim storage and load
out of various types of ash residue left over from solid fuel combustion processes. Ash
handling systems may employ pneumatic ash conveying or mechanical ash conveyors. A
typical pneumatic ash handling system will employ vacuum pneumatic ash collection and ash
conveying from several ash pick up stations-with delivery to an ash storage silo for interim
holding prior to load out and transport.
In our co-gen we use Dense Ash Conveying type of ash handling system. It is a
pneumatic pressure system conveying dense ash at a low velocity. This system consumes less
energy due to its smaller amount of conveying air, for the bore of an ash conveying pipe can
be made smaller. This is suitable for conveying a large volume and the corrosion of ash pipes
is reduced due to its low velocity conveying. Fly ash is fed into an ash conveying pipe
through dense ash conveying (DAC) feeders and conveyed to a fly ash silo at a low velocity
in a pneumatic air stream by a compressor. After storing in the silo, the fly ash is conveyed
like the vacuum conveying system.
a head which contains valves. The piston rings are for sealing the air. The piston is connected
to the driving mechanisms by means of suitable lines or elements.
