1) Installing Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2 failed with an error during the TXK Install Service. 2) The cause was determined to be files or inventory references left over from a previous installation, conflicting with the new installation. 3) The solution is to completely remove any traces of previous installations, including deleting the Oracle home and removing specific inventory references, before attempting the new 12.2 installation.

CAUSE
There was still some files or inventory references left from a previous installation causing this install to fail.
This is confirmed in uploaded log filet RDBMS $ORACLE_HOME/temp/$CONTEXT_NAME/logs/oracle.apps.fnd.txk.install0.log
which contains the errors:
CAUSE: The chosen installation conflicted with software already installed in the given Oracle home.
ACTION: Install into a different Oracle home.

The errors within the file txk.install0.log indicate that a previous install has not been completely removed before the new
installation was started.
Ensure any previous install is completely deleted including any specific inventory references.
