    The Power of Giving

    Summary
    God is trying to teach us through the Scriptures about the tremendous
    power of giving, but are we getting it? In both the Old and New Testaments,
    we can see the results of generous giving, and we are taught to give
    generously and with the right motivation. The world will always come up
    with reasons why we cant give, and sometimes we may find ourselves
    outside of our comfort zone when we follow Gods lead during offering time.
    But the level of our giving is an indicator of how much we trust Him.

    We can take Gods lead and follow His example.


    God is a giver. He gave us His only Son (John 3:16).
    Therefore, when we are givers, we reflect His image.
    Like Him, we should give out of love.
    God is a God of increase. But to see that increase, we must be willing to
    sow abundantly (Psalm 107:37).
    Giving is a form of sowing that allows us to experience increase in our lives.
    We should trust God enough to give.
    Sowing will not always feel comfortable, but the Scriptures promise we will
    reap joy if we give regardless of the way we may feel at the moment (Psalm
    126:5).
    If we focus too much on things going on in the world, we will not sow
    (Ecclesiastes 11:4).
    There will always be something competing with our intent to sow and give.
    To trust is to lean or rely on. When we trust God enough to give the way the
    Scriptures say, He will cause an increase in our financial storehouses
    (Proverbs 3:5-10, AMP).
    God loves to be trusted in all areas of our lives, including our finances.
    We should not trust in our own understanding of our present circumstances
    more than we trust in God.

    In everything we do, we should acknowledge Him.


    We should honor Him specifically with our income. Hard work for the
    kingdom is righteous and good in His eyes.
    The contemporary translation of storage places that the book of Proverbs
    refers to is our checkbooks and savings accounts.
    When we trust God first, everything else will fall into place.
    Want to advance at work? God is ultimately responsible for our promotion.
    We cannot count on others (Psalm 75:6, 7).
    By giving, we receive. Conversely, hanging on to money and being stingy
    will lead to lack and insufficiency (Proverbs 11:24, 25).
    When we think we can compartmentalize God and trust Him in only some
    situations, we are deceived (Galatians 6:7, AMP).
    When we just pretend to trust God, we are mocking Him.
    When we do not trust Him, we will reap only what we sow and no more. If
    we sow evil, we will reap evil.
    Whatever you do, do it with all your heart. Do it to serve God, not man
    (Colossians 3:23, 24).
    When we serve Him, He will be the One to reward us above and beyond
    what the world could ever be capable of.
    We will receive according to our generosity (Luke 6:38).
    If we give with the right motive, whatever we give will be multiplied and
    returned to us in much greater proportions.
