DRESSCODE
VIOLATIONS
Please be respectful of the Selma High School Rules. All collegiate and professional sport
attire is not allowed to be worn, that also includes Fresno State. The dress code is strictly
enforced and if dress code is violated Saturday school will be given to the student.
POWDER PUFF
Attention Ladies: If you are interested in playing Powder Puff this year, your $25 for the
jersey is due to Gina Gonzalez in the finance office before March 27th. If you would like to
fundraise for the jersey, please see Ms. DeCanio in room 1005. The last day to order is
March 27th. Numbers are on a 1st come, 1st serve basis.
ANIME CLUB
Anime Club Officers: An officer meeting will be held tomorrow in room 1502 at lunch to
discuss future events. Please be present.
HIA
HIA members who picked up a snack pack must turn in all money by tomorrow to avoid
being placed on debt! Please see Ms. Vzquez in room 409.
SENIORS
If you want to vote for the Best Hair category of the Senior Bests section of the yearbook,
please come by room 2307 to place your vote by tomorrow in room 2307.
SENIORS
If you didnt take the placement tests last week for Reedley College/Fresno City College
please see Ms. Loving ASAP. Tomorrow is the placement test make-up day. Even if you are
not planning on attending a community college I want you to take the tests anyway as your
back-up plan
FFA
Attention All FFA Members: Need FFA Credits? Well here is your chance to earn all you need
for the rest of the semester. Its National FFA Week! If you participate in our dress up day
activities as well as other events you can earn major credits:

Maid & Butler Auction @ Lunchtime (Freshman can earn 2 credits & all proceeds go
to Valley Childrens Hospital)

Attention Seniors! The adult CNA course for 2015 registration has begun. If you would like
to take the summer CNA class please contact Mrs. S Chambers (Nursing Instructor) for
more details. There are eleven spots available; it is first come first serve.

If you are interested in being on the Academic Decathlon team next year, see one of the
coaches this week: Mr. Cox, Mr. Highbaugh, Mr. Johnson, Mrs. Lambert, or Mr. Norman.

The deadline to file your FAFSA is Monday, March 2, 2015! You have to file by the deadline
to be considered for some FREE money for college. Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov
CAMP ROYAL
Every year the Selma Rotary looks to send two female and two male Selma High School
juniors to Camp Royal. This is an all-expense-paid leadership experience at Lake Sequoia
with 200 young student leaders from over 60 high schools from within Monterey, Fresno,
Kings, and Tulare Counties.
The camp will take place this year for June 13 - June 18. Students can pick up an
application in the Student office or download the application from our school
website. Camp Royal applications are due to Ms. DeCanio in room 1005 by Monday, March
16. Dont miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity!

ASB elections will take place during lunch next week. There will be a primary election on
Wednesday, March 4 for the offices of President and Treasurer to narrow it down to just 2
candidates. The General ASB election will be held on Friday, March 6. All current freshmen,
sophomores, and juniors should plan to vote! Look for the video campaign ads coming
soon! Class Officer Packets are also due on March 6th! See information posted on our
school website!

ATTENDENTS
The class officers of 2016 are looking for sophomores to serve as Sophomore Attendants to
assist w/prom. Applications are available now in the student office. Priority is given to those
running for Junior class officer position. Applications are due March 13th!
CAR SHOW
Applications for the 2015 car show are available in the student office on the counter.
PROM
Attn: Jrs/Srs. Its time to get your date lined up for prom. Tickets go on sale in less than a
month. Remember you must academically be eligible by the February 20th grading period
and free of debt.
RAISIN ROYALTY
The city of Selma is looking for Raisin Royalty Candidates. If you would like to earn some
money and a possible scholarship please contact the Selma Chamber at 891-2235.
Candidates must be between 16 and 23 years of age by May 1, 2015.
Young Ambassadors Program for Seniors: The Smithsonian Latino Center is now accepting applications for the
2015 Young Ambassadors Program June 21 through July 31. The application deadline is April 6, before 5 p.m. EDT.
The Young Ambassadors Program is a national program for graduating high school seniors aimed at fostering the
next generation of Latino leaders in the arts, sciences and humanities via the Smithsonian and its resources. For
