Create, develop and implement a full slate of volunteer programs, civic leadership development opportunities, and
community partnerships.
Work in collaboration with students, other campus departments and community partners to establish and promote a
comprehensive schedule of civic engagement programs.

Work with student coordinators to plan all aspects of our Alternative Service Break (ASB) program with Winter, Spring

Expanded and improved the Alternative Service Break program including:
-Developed a new comprehensive curriculum for ASB participants.
-Expanded the program to include service break trips in the state of Idaho.
-Focused each trip around a specific social justice issue.
-Created and instituted a more holistic training for ASB student leaders and faculty/staff advisors
-Started a scholarship program for students with need to increase representation from low SES backgrounds.
-Improved the scope and frequency of assessment
Started new on-campus food pantry for students in need
Interim (one year): Advised all of student government (approximately 120 students).
Planned, promoted and coordinated professional and student development, training and leadership programs in
collaboration with students and professional staff.
Planned, coordinated and executed Campus Recreation assessment efforts including design, implementation, data
collection, analysis and reports
Planned, promoted and organized Campus Recreation special events including Late Night at the Rec, Rec Fair, Vandal
Friday and assisted with all other events.
Developed and executed an integrated marketing plan for all areas within Campus Recreation.
Oversaw and executed the departments social media presence as well as provided technical guidance and assistance to
staff in relation to branding, marketing and social media.
Planned, developed and designed all marketing materials for the department including web, print, digital and video.
Collaborated on developing new Campus Recreation student staff leadership and professional development series.
Created new brand guidelines, policies and procedures for the Campus Recreation brand and new logo.
Began the process of integrating CAS standards into Campus Recreations assessment and programming.
Planned, promoted and coordinated winter, spring and summer break service trips. This included a winter service trip
for 24 students and four advisors to Peru, 10 spring break service trips for 111 students and ten advisors, and one
summer service trip for 12 students and two advisors.
Led spring, winter and summer ASB trips as a student leader.
Worked in collaboration with another intern and two staff members in planning all logistics, site locations, team
selections, team building exercises, reflections and education sessions on relevant social justice issues for ASB trips.
Developed new ASB application and selection process in collaboration with other students and staff.
Worked with University staff members within and outside of the office on applicable laws, policies and procedures
relating to the ASB program, primarily in the areas of risk management.
Managed and oversaw all business operations including sales, budgeting and operations for the Class A California
League, Minor League Baseball franchise in High Desert.
Led and supervised eight full-time staff and oversaw management, supervision and development of 60-100 game-day
employees.
In four years with High Desert, overall profitability increased each season. 2003 and 2004 were the most profitable
seasons in nine years.
Hired, supervised, trained and motivated sales staff. In 2004, led the High Desert group sales staff to the highest group
sales number in five years and surpassed that mark in 2005.
Created, prepared and managed budgets totaling over $1.5 million.
Acted as a customer service leader throughout the stadium during games, providing exceptional customer service
during games, utilizing the Wow Factor.
Worked in collaboration, and built mutually beneficial partnerships with local community groups, non-profits and
schools and assisted them with promotion, recognition and fundraising.
Represented the organization as a board member of the Adelanto Chamber of Commerce and as an active member in
the Apple Valley, Hesperia and Victorville chambers.
Created a fun and productive work environment.
