Its been a busy week at

LMES. Our week kicked
off with a wonderful Jump
Rope for Heart event.
Thank you to Carmen
Plemmons and Marcus
Nellems for coordinating
this fun activity. We also
appreciate all of our parent
volunteers.
I am so proud of our students. So far, they have
raised over $16,000 to support the American Heart
Association. Way to go!
After we all got our cardio
exercise, we enjoyed another celebrationthe announcement of our Teacher
of the Year and our Sup-

port Employee of the Year.

Congratulation go out to
Mrs. Teresa Randolph,
3rd grade teacher, and
Mrs. Donna Corley, Registrar. Both these ladies do
an outstanding job. We are
so excited to have them
represent LMES.
This week is National
School Counseling Week.
LMES is blessed to have 2
wonderful guidance counselors in Mrs. Sitsch and
Mrs. Hardage. Be sure to
let them know how much
you appreciate all they do.
If you have been to LMES
this week, you should have

noticed that we have a new

Lobby Guard This updated
equipment seems to be
much faster and user
friendly. Please remember
that your drivers license is
required when signing in.
In the next couple of
weeks, we will be removing the feature allowing
you to sign in without your
license. This is necessary
to insure that we have a
safe, secure environment
for our students.
Thank you for your help
with keeping our school a
safe place to learn and
grow.

LEAD

Do you know how to keep

your heart strong? The
heart is a muscle and
should be exercised to help
keep it healthy and strong.
To keep your heart healthy
and strong you should be
physically active for 30
minutes or more a day. A
normal heart beats between 50 and 99 times per
minute when you are resting. This heart rate gives a
good indication of cardiovascular fitness. As you get
in better shape your resting
heart rate will go down
because your heart is
healthier. Regular physical
activity not only strengthens your heart it also helps
control your weight. Being

move, as long as youre
physically active. Move
until you breathe hard or
break a sweat and you will
be doing great things for
your body and physical
health. Being physically
active improves your sleep
and gives you a better attitude and extra energy
boost during the day.
