Epocem primer is an universal primer for Sika EpoCem flooring top coat

Application
Surface condition

The substrates must be of sufficient strength (minimum 25 MPa


compressive strength). The surface should be level, solid and free from
loose and friable particles. The pull-off strength should be greater than
2
1.5 N/mm .
The surface must be clean, free from oil, grease and friable matter.

Surface preparation

Insufficiently solid layers and any contamination must be removed mechanically, e.g. by water jetting or blast-cleaning.

Mixing

Prior to application of EpoCem primer, component A should be shaken


vigorously prior to opening, then add component A to component B and
stir intensively with an electrical or pneumatic mixer at approx. 300 - 400
rpm.
Mixing time is a minimum 3 minutes but may take longer until a homogeneous mixture is achieved.

Application methods

To achieve uniform and perfect wetting, the first application should


always be carried out by brush. Depending on the porosity a second coat
may be required. The second coat may be applied by roller.

Clean the tools immediately after use with water

Important note

The product does not fall under the dangerous goods regulations.
In a liquid state the product contaminates water and should not get into
drains, water and soils.
In any case remnants of cleaning water and material must be removed
according to local regulations.
