RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR AND LOCAL
GOVERNMENT (DILG) THROUGH THE HONORABLE SECRETARY MANUEL A. ROXAS II, TO
DONATE ONE (1) UNIT FIRE TRUCK TO THE MUNICIPALITY OF GUINOBATAN, PROVINCE
OF ALBAY.
Proponent/Sponsor:

Honorable Councilor Robert M. Baaga

WHEREAS,
the total population of the Municipality of Guinobatan consists of more or
less 90,000 inhabitants as per survey conducted by the local government last 2010, and this
population is expected/projected to increase as the years pass by. The municipality is also the third
largest municipality in Albay and occupies a total of 203 square kilometers in area;
WHEREAS,
every local government is in need of an adequate and serviceable fire
truck used in the maintenance of public safety and order in general. In particular, it is being used in
assisting, transporting, responding and providing firefighters access to fires during the occurrence
of conflagration;
WHEREAS,
the municipality only has a total of one (1) old fire truck that is serviceable
in times of/during the occurrence of exigencies and incidents as mentioned in the immediately
preceding Whereas clause. Moreover, this fire truck also services the needs of the neighboring
municipalities. Thus, the importance of an additional fire truck cannot be overstated especially so
right now that the Fire Prevention Month, which is scheduled every March of every year, is
forthcoming;
WHEREAS,
with the increasing number of inhabitants of the Municipality and its vast
area, this august body, in the interest of its constituents safety, protection, security and well-being,
believes that provision of an additional fire truck is but necessary and practical to address the
current situation;
