3.5 NE Software Settings

3.5.1 Preset the Equipment Configuration with 1320CT
The equipment configuration in 1320CT complies with the units really inserted into the equipment being tested.
N.B.

For a detailed description of the software menu refer to the Operators Handbook.
3.5.2 Cross Connection Settings for Local Measures with 1320CT

The following are the characteristics of the initial Cross Connection:

All possible protections (electrical and optical) must be included.
The equipment works in the Free-running mode.
N.B.

For a detailed description of the software menu refer to the Operators Handbook.
3.5.3 Standard connections

Use the procedures reported in the ANNEXES for the unidirectional matrix loopback connections of all ports
present (of any type of bit rate):
-

Annex - Bi-directional protected cross-connection between a 2 Mbit/s port and STM-n port

Annex - Bi-directional protected cross-connection between a 34 Mbit/s port and STM -n port
3.5.4 The maintenance of the DB
3.5.4.1

Backup of MIB

In any cases, the backup of DB is very important. To backup up the DB, user can use the command
download/mib management on the main menu. The window likes following in Figure 9 will appear:

At present, the mib backup has been OK.

3.5.4.2

Delete of MIB

To delete the MIB with hardware, user can modify the state of the switch (U30) on the main board.
To delete the MIB, the switches should be in the following state:
1: OFF
2: ON
After setting the switch in this state and plug in the main board, the system will delete the MIB and create a
new MIB with default value, then displays Please wait some minutes and restart me.
Then the user should pull out the main board and set the swithc in the following state:
1: OFF
2: OFF
then reset the system again to make the new MIB work.
If the system is set up for the first time. After formatting the flash, downloading the application, one reset is
necessary(reset p). After reset, the system will also create the new MIB with default value and display Please
wait some minutes and restart me when no MIB is found. User should reset the system to make the new MIB
work. SO totaly the system should be reset twice for the first set up.

If optical model doesnt plug on main board, or slot 2 & 3 dont have OT1B1 board, relevant LAPD is
invalid.
Each LAPD has a LAPD Role attribute. For each LAPD, its Role can be configured to User Role or
Network Role.
Each LAPD has another attribute: ECC Channel. Main board and OT1B1 board have two options: RS and
MS, indicating the selections of ECC Channel are D1-D3, D4-D12.
Two NEs are connected by optical fiber. Under Role configuration, optical port of User Role must connect
with optical port of Network Role by optical fiber, thus User Role must respond one by one with Network Role.
Meanwhile, their ECC Channel must be exactly same.
LAPD configuration command is effective immediately.
