Take control of your projects to get better results! This fast-paced seminar, designed
for those seeking to apply and improve their project planning and project controlling
knowledge and skills, results in proactive project decisions being derived from
established project data. These proactive decisions offer organizations better
results and opportunities to meet or exceed project stakeholder expectations,
maintain project timing, contain project costs and mitigate project risks while taking
advantage of, and benefiting from, lessons learned. You will engage in developing
and applying effective planning processes while controlling the Triad of Alternatives
(Scope, Time and Cost) to balance Project Riskin a dynamic, facilitator-led
discussions, as well as working in small teams with hands-on activities. You will
hone your knowledge and skills while increasing your ability to apply effective
planning and controlling tools and techniques.
Who should attend?
This workshop is intended to create an understanding of the project planning
processes that are essential to develop the Integrated Project Plan in order to utilize
the project controlling processes to assist Project Managers in contributing to
better managed projects.
What will my seminar experience cover?
1. Discuss experiences and perspectives to cite examples of Best Practices
and Lessons Learned regarding the nine Project Management Knowledge
Areas to develop a common language for implementing and utilizing project
management tools and techniques.
2. Discuss experiences and perspectives to cite examples of Best Practices
and Lessons Learned regarding the Project Management Processes to better
understand the required steps to every project and every project phase.
3. Review a Project Charter to recognize the components that establish the
project boundaries.
4. Conduct a Stakeholder Assessment to understand the process necessary to
capture and manage project stakeholder requirements and expectations.
5. Develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) in order to better understand
how to define project deliverables to control what is or is not included in the
project scope.
6. Develop a Project Schedule and calculate the Total Float to create a baseline
that will be used to ensure timely completion of the project.
7. Calculate Earned Value Metrics to determine project performance compared
against established Project Planned Values and Actual Costs.
