    1. GENERAL
    The scope of each the non-destructive testing (NDT) shall be used under
    GL-2000, Rules for Material and Welding: II Part 3, Chapter 2, Section
    4 and Chapter 3, Section 1 - 2, part C.

    2. SCOPE
    2.1. Main Dimensions OPV 80
    Length overall: 80.60 m
    Beam Moulded: 13.0 m
    Beam True: 13.8 m.
    Depth: 6.50 m.
    Design Draught: 3.80 m.
    2.2. Inspection points
    The following Lumber of inspection points was determined:
    Welded Joints Quality Grade I
    117
    Welded Joints Quality Grade II
    76

    193

    3. METHODS AND PERSONNEL NDT.


    3.1. NDT Methods.
    The following methods shall be used:
    Visual Inspection (VT)
    Radiographic Testing (RT)
    Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
    Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
    Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
    3.2. Personnel
    The non-destructive test shall be performed by qualified and trained in
    each of the techniques. The non-destructive testing shall carry out in
    accordance with GL-2000, Rules for Material and Welding: II Part 3,
    Chapter 2, Section 4, part C.

    4. INSPECTION PLAN
    The location of inspection points in butt joints is shown in the shell
    expansion and transversal bulkheads.
    The location of inspection points in superstructure (aluminum), decks and
    longitudinal bulkheads shall be determined with local Surveyor.

    5. NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING (NDT)


    5.1 Visual Inspection (VT)
    All welded joints shall be visually inspected. In fillet joints is measure
    the size according to approved drawings and welding table. Also verify
    the integrity and quality of the surface of the beads.
    5.2. Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT).
    All welded joints at engine and generator foundation will be inspected
    with MT. In places where in not possible carry out MT will be inspected
    with PT.
    Fillet joints with thickness greater than 30 or equal will be inspected
    using MT or PT.
    Other sections to be tested for these methods are crane base and bitt.
    5.3. Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
    The total number of inspection points listed in item 2.2 is preferably
    inspected using UT. For the ultrasonic inspection will be used an
    ultrasonic flaw detector with scan A or scan S representation, and the
    length of inspection shall be minimum 1000mm.
    In some cases and in agreement with the Surveyor, the ultrasonic
    testing (UT) can be replaced by radiographic testing (RT). For the RT
    will be used a source of Iridium 192 and the length inspection shall be
    480mm

    All checkpoints are shown in the drawings on pages 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11,
    12, 13 and 14.

    Other parts to be inspected by ultrasonic testing are:


    Butt joints of the engine foundation
    Outrigger
    Joints between the rudder stock and blade attachment
    Shaft struts bossing and shaft struts shell insert.
    Bow thruster tunnel union
