Logic Express 9: - A Beginning Guide

Logic Express 9 is a digital audio workstation (DAW) software. When first opening the software, the user must select whether to create an audio, external MIDI, or software instrument track. This will determine how incoming sound is processed. The main Logic Express 9 interface includes tracks for audio, MIDI, and software instruments. It also includes tabs for the mixer, browser, and other functions. The track list displays all tracks and allows selecting and editing properties of individual tracks. The track channel represents a sound channel and allows recording, muting, soloing, and automating parameters of that sound. The mixer provides an overview of input, output, volumes, panning and effects across all audio channels.

instruments or MIDI input, this keeps track of how many you have, which is
selected and what states they are in or what properties that are currently being
tweaked via the Track List such as Automation.
B. The Track Channel: The track channel is responsible for representing a sound
channel where a certain input has been linked to a certain output containing (x)
of sound. You can Record easily using this channel strip, as well as mute the
channel and solo the sound that is coming from the channel. It is also used in the
creation and manipulation of Automation.

C. The Mixer: Here the mixer is able to see a simplified setup of the Input/Output,
volume levels, panning and effects that are put on audio channels, you can add
effects to channels from here in the Mixer and access them quickly across many
channels also. You can also create audio channels and change pretty much
everything regarding the channel strip. Effective use of the Mixer is crucial in any
sound production work.
D. The Sampler: In the Sampler, bounced audio or external audio that is recorded,
can be edited in a multitude of ways, pitch, depth, length to name a few. Effective
use of the Sampler allows people to use the sampler as a way to create effect
