Total Physical Response

Total Physical Response (TPR) is a language teaching method that uses physical actions to help students learn a new language. The teacher gives students commands that they act out with their bodies. The role of the teacher is to direct the commands and model the actions, while the students' role is to listen and imitate the teacher. They first demonstrate understanding through physical response, then work on speaking, reading, and writing the vocabulary. The goal is for students to enjoy learning and reduce stress through kinesthetic activities.
