Downtown Bangor Partnership

Santas Workshop, December 6, 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., Bagel Central (33 Central Street)
This December, Santa is making a stop in downtown Bangor! Its not that often that Santa has time to drop by in the middle
of making toys for all the boys and girls! On Saturday, December 6, bring your children to Bagel Central for a chance to sit
on Santas lap, take a photo, and tell good ole Kris Kringle what they want for Christmas. The pros from Memorymaker
Photography will be on hand to take holiday-card-worthy shots for purchase too.
Immediately following Santas visit, the Festival of Lights Parade will start. The Parade is being hosted by the Rotary Club
of Bangor and will feature marching bands, floats, dancers, and other performing groups representing various winter
holidays such as Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, New Years, and more! The City Tree Lighting will take place in West
Market Square directly following the parade.

Downtown Bangor Holiday Open House, December 10, 5 p.m. to close, throughout Downtown
Enjoy a lovely evening in downtown Bangor as retailers open their doors to holiday shoppers for Downtown's Holiday
Open House. Refreshments, specials, and late hours at participating locations.
* Mexicali Blues will be participating in the Downtown Open House on Dec 10th and will be giving away a Free

Announcement! MFLM gets a virtual face lift - and more!

The Maine Forest and Logging Museum is pleased to announce its new
website - www.MaineForestandLoggingMuseum.org !! Now you can see all
that the museum has to offer through this virtual platform. Still in its
infancy, the museum hopes to add many resources to the pages over the next
year. These resources will help support the sustainability of our Maine
Forest Culture - one of the great reasons to Visit Bangor and beyond! As we
move into the future, keep your eyes open for changes that will be coming up
- new and regular programming, regular tours, new days and hours, and
many new ways for you to find YOUR place in the FOREST! See you at the
museum!

General Manager, Leeanne Hewey of Vacationland Inn received the Special

Services award from the Maine Innkeepers Association at the 2014 annual
conference dinner. She was recognized for changing hospitality Law,
protecting all hotels, motels, inns, B&B's, campgrounds and lodging houses
by closing the gray area of the Law. The Law now states "innkeepers,
hotels, motels, campgrounds and B&B's are not landlords and their guests
are not tenants." You can see the Law by googling L.D. 1270. This law
changed it so that the hospitality industry is exempt from Title 14
(Landlord/Tenant Law). People don't pay, they can't stay and owners and
gm's can have the police remove non-paying guests without worrying about
them hitting you with the eviction laws.

Dennis Paper Ownership Changes

Ron Dennis, President and owner of Dennis Paper and Food Service, a
family owned and operated food service business since 1908, announced the
sale of the company to its employees through an Employee Stock
Ownership Plan (ESOP), effective January 1, 2015.
The decision to keep Dennis an independent, locally owned company
provides a stable and reliable relationship between owners, customers and
suppliers. This change of ownership will not affect the governance of Dennis
Paper and Foodservice and the local company culture stays the same, the
organizational structure stays the same and all employees will keep their
jobs. Ron Dennis will continue to be actively involved in the day to day
operations.

Bangor Museum and History Center
For the first time in more than a decade, the
Thomas A. Hill House will be festively
decorated and open for a holiday tour and
tea.
Join us on Saturday, December 6, from
1pm to 4pm.
Tickets for this special event are $10 per
person and are available at the door the day
of the event or available for purchase online.
All proceeds benefit the Bangor Historical
Society.

Congratulations Geaghan Brothers

Brewing Co. on your new Maine
Distributors Truck!

The Brewer beer brewing facility is expected to finish construction

in the next few weeks and start making beer by next month. The
Brewer brewery will have a 20/40 barrel system, a large capacity
upgrade from the 5/10 barrel system currently being used at
Geaghan's Pub & Craft Brewery in Bangor. The increase in
capacity will allow for more distribution, and bottling that is
expected to start in the first quarter of next year. The brewery in
Bangor will still be operational to meet the demand from the Pub
and serve as a test kitchen for testing new beer recipes.
