1 Campo de aplicacin
Esta parte de ISO 898 fija las propiedades mecnicas para tornillos con dimetro de rosca corriente comprendidos entre M1,6
y M39, as como los de rosca fina comprendidos entre M8 x 1 y M39 x 3, con rosca ISO segn ISO 68-1; hechos de acero al
carbono con o sin alear cuando son ensayados a temperatura ambiente comprendidas entre 10 C y 35 C.
2 Sistema de designaciones
El signo caracterstico de la clase de Resistencia esta compuesto de dos cifras; la primera corresponde a 1/100 de la
resistencia a la traccin nominal en N/mm2, y la segunda indica el dcuplo de la relacin entre el limite de fluencia interior ReL
(o limite de alargamiento de 0,2 % Rp0,2 ) para la resistencia de traccin nominal Rm ( relacin de limites de fluencia).
Por ejemplo, clase 8.8 significa una Rm = 800 N/mm2 y un Rp0,2 = 640 N/mm2 (80% de 800 N/mm2).

a) En tornillos de clase 8.8 con dimetro de rosca d 16 mm existe un elevado riesgo de desgaste par alas tuercas, cuando la unin roscada se aprieta
por encima de la fuerza de ensayo del tornillo. Se recomienda observar lo indicado en la norma ISO 898-2.
b) La clase de Resistencia 9.8 solo es validad para un dimetro nominal de d 16 mm.
c) El limite para tornillos de construcciones metlicas es de 12 mm.
d) Las resistencias mnimas a la traccin se aplican para tornillos con longitudes nominales de l 2,5 d. Las durezas mnimas se aplican a tornillos con
longitudes nominales de l < 2,5 d y a aquellos productos que no puedan someterse a la prueba de traccin (p.e. a causa de la forma de su cabeza).
e) La dureza de la superficie no deber superar en el producto correspondiente 30 puntos Vickers la dureza media del ncleo, en el caso de que ambos
valores de dureza se determinen con HV 0,3. En la clase de resistencia 10.9 no deber sobrepasarse una dureza de las superficies de 390 HV.
f) En el caso de que no se pueda determinar el limite de fluencia inferior ReL, se indicar el limite de alargamiento de 0,2% Rp 0,2.
4 Caracterizacin
Es obligatoria la caracterizacin para todas las clases de resistencias de tornillos
hexagonales o hexalobulares con dimetro de rosca d 5mm, preferiblemente
en la cabeza (fig.1).

4 Marking
Marking of all property classes is required for hexagon and hexalobular head
bolts and screw with d 5mm, preferably on top of the head (fig.1).

1 Campo de aplicacin
Esta norma contiene disposiciones sobre un ensayo de torsin para determinar el momento de alargamiento de rotura de
tornillos con rosca M1 a M 10 y con unas clases de resistencia segn DIN EN ISO 898-1. El ensayo sirve para tornillos
inferiores a M 3, para los que no se fija en DIN EN ISO 898-1 ningn tipo de fuerzas de ensayo y de rotura, as como para
tornillos cortos de M 3 a M 10, en los que no se pueda realizar un ensayo de traccin.
Los momentos de alargamiento de rotura mnimos no sirven para varillas roscadas con hexgono interior segn DIN 913 a
DIN 916 ni tampoco para tornillos templados por cementacin.
En esta norma no se han tenido en cuenta las clases de resistencia 3.6, 6.8 y 9.8.

Esta norma contiene disposiciones sobre las propiedades mecnicas de tuercas con esfuerzos de prueba especficos con
dimetros nominales hasta 39 mm, con rosca ISO con dimetros y pasos segn ISO 68 e ISO 262 (rosca corriente), con
tolerancia de rosca 6H segn ISO 965, con propiedades mecnicas especificas, con entrecaras segn ISO 272 o anlogas,
con alturas nominales iguales o mayores que 0,5 D, hechas de aceros al carbono aleados y sin alear; cuando son ensayadas
a temperatura ambiente.
Esta norma no aplica para tuercas con requisitos especiales, como soldabilidad, resistencia a la corrosin (vase ISO 3506),
resistencia al calor superior a + 300 C y resistencia al fro inferior a 50 C , y propiedades de seguridad (vase ISO 2320)
No debern emplearse a temperaturas superiores a + 250 C tuercas de acero de fcil mecanizacin.
Para uniones roscadas con holgura superior a 6g/6H, es mucho mayor el riesgo de que se estropee la rosca.

Las tuercas con alturas 0,5 D < 0,8 D (alturas de rosca efectivas
0,4 D < 0,6 D) se designan por medio de una cifra de dos posiciones.
La primera cifra indica que la capacidad de carga es menor que las
descritas en el apartado 2.1, y la segunda corresponde al 1/100 de la
tensin de ensayo nominal en N/mm2.
Las durezas mnimas solo son obligatorias para tuercas, en las que no se pueda realizar un ensayo con la fuerza de ensayo y
en las tuercas bonificadas. Para todas las dems tuercas sirven las durezas mnimas solo como valor orientativo.
Las durezas mnimas para tuercas con dimetros nominales superiores a 39 mm y hasta 100 mm son valores orientativos.
4 Caracterizacin
Las tuercas hexagonales M 5 y con clases de resistencia a partir de 8,
as como la clase de resistencia 05, debern ir marcadas en la superficie
de apoyo o en una entrecaras con el smbolo caracterstico de la clase,
as como la marca del fabricante (fig.1).
Las tuercas con rosca izquierda y dimetro de rosca d 6mm debern ir
caracterizados con un smbolo segn figura 2.

4 Caracterizacin
Las tuercas hexagonales M 5 y con clases de resistencia a partir de 8,
as como la clase de resistencia 05, debern ir marcadas en la superficie
de apoyo o en una entrecaras con el smbolo caracterstico de la clase, as
como la marca del fabricante (fig.1).
Las tuercas con rosca izquierda y dimetro de rosca d 6mm debern ir
caracterizados con un smbolo segn figura 2.

En el ao 1967 se adapt la norma DIN 267 parte 4, a las clases de resistencia internacional para tuercas. Se sustituyeron los
smbolos anteriores 4D, 5D, 5S, 6G, 6S y 8G por las cifras caractersticas 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 y 14, donde la cifra caracterstica
1/100 corresponde a la resistencia minima a la traccin ( N/mm2 ) del tornillo, con la que se poda emparejar y cargar la tuerca
hasta la resistencia mnima a la traccin del tornillo, p.e. tornillo 10.9 tuerca 10. Se asignaron a las tuercas las fuerzas de
ensayo correspondientes.

2 Sistema de designacin
El signo caracterstico de la clase de resistencia consiste en una cifra que indica el 1/100 de la tensin de ensayo en N/mm2,
con una barra vertical a cada lado.
Por ejemplo, clase |12| corresponde a una tensin de ensayo de 12 x 100 = 1200 N/mm2. Esta tensin de prueba es igual a
la resistencia a la traccin mnima de un tornillo, que al acoplarse con la tuerca correspondiente, puede ser cargado hasta el
lmite de alargamiento mnimo del tornillo.
Generalmente se podrn emplear las tuercas de la clase de resistencia ms elevada en lugar de las tuercas de la clase de
resistencia ms baja.

4 Caracterizacin
Las tuercas hexagonales M 5, debern ir marcadas en la superficie de
apoyo o en una entrecaras con el smbolo caracterstico de la clase, as
como la marca del fabricante (fig.1).
Para tuercas segn DIN 555, DIN 934 y DIN 935 de acero de fcil
mecanizacin, deber colocarse adicionalmente como signo caracterstico
una estra en uno de los biseles de la tuerca (fig.2).

DIN 267 part 4 was converted to the International property classes for nuts in 1967. The previous symbols 4D, 5D, 5S, 6G,
6S and 8G were replaced by code numbers 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14, where the code number indicated 1/100 of the minimum
tensile strength of the bolt with which the nut Could be mated and loaded up to the minimum tensile strength of the bolt, e. g.
bolt 10.9 nut 10. Appropriate proof load values were allocated to the nuts.
1 Field of application
This standard specifies the mechanical properties of nuts with specified proof load values with nominal thread diameters up
to and including 39 mm, with metric ISO thread with diameters and pitches according to DIN 13 part 13 (coarse and fine pitch
thread), with thread tolerances 6G and 4H to 7H according to DIN 13 parte 15, with widths across flats or external diameters
not less than 1,45 D or equivalent, with nominal heights greater than or equal to 0,8 D, made of carbon steel or low alloy steel;
when tested at room temperature.
Particularly they only apply to the existing so-called DIN-nuts, where in the product standards for the mechanical properties
reference is made to DIN 267 part 4, e.g. DIN 934, DIN 555 and so on.
THIS STANDARD NOT APPLY TO NUTS WITH PROPERTY CLASSES ACORDING TO DIN ISO 898-2 AND DIN 267-23
This standard does not apply to nuts which have to meet special requirements, such as for weldability, corrosion resistance
(see DIN 267-11), ability to withstand temperatures above + 300C or below 50 C or locking ability (see DIN 267-15).
Nuts made from free-cutting steel shall not be used above + 250C .
There is an increased risk of stripping for assemblies with threads having tolerances wider than 6 g/6 H

2 Designation system
The symbol for property classes consist of a code number with a vertical bar on either side that indicates 1/100 of the proof
load stress in N/mm2.
E.g. class |12| has a proof load stress of 12 x 100 = 1200 N/mm2. This proof load stress is equal to the minimum tensile
strength of a bolt, which can be loaded up to the minimum yield strength of the bolt when mated with the nut concerned.
In general, nuts of a higher property class can replace nuts of a lower property class.

1 Scope
This International Standard specifies the characteristics of heat-treated steel tapping screws, with tapping screw thread form
ST2,2 to ST8 inclusive in accordance with ISO 1478, together with the corresponding test methods.
2 Materials
Tapping screws shall be made from cold heading, case hardening quality steel.

1 Campo de empleo
Esta Norma Internacional contiene disposiciones sobre las propiedades mecnicas para tornillos y tuercas de aceros
inoxidables en los grupos de material austentico, martenstico y ferrtico.
Es valida nicamente para los elementos de unin mecnicos con dimetros nominales de rosca de 1,6 a 39 mm, con rosca
ISO con dimetros y pasos segn ISO 68 e ISO 262, con cualquier forma, y adems para tuercas con entrecaras o dimetros
exteriores 1,45 D y longitudes de rosca nominales efectivas iguales o mayores que 0,6 D.
La norma no define la corrosin la resistencia a la corrosin en un determinado ambiente. nicamente determina grupos de
aceros para elementos de unin de aceros inoxidables.
2 Designacin
Los grupos de aceros y las clases de resistencia quedan designados por medio de una secuencia de letras y cifras de cuatro
trminos. La letra designa la clasificacin general del grupo de acero como sigue:
A para aceros austentico
C para aceros martenstico
F para aceros ferrtico
La primera cifra despus de la letra designa el tipo de aleacin, dentro de los grupos A, C y F. Las dos ultimas cifras designan
la clase de resistencia (en estado metalrgico)
Por ejemplo, A2-70 corresponde a un acero austentico, endurecido en fro con resistencia a la traccin min. de 700 N/mm2
Los aceros martensticos y ferrticos no se utilizan en la tornillera comercial. No se encuentran en stock y han de ser fabricados
especialmente en grandes cantidades.

1 Scope
This International Standard specifies the mechanical properties of bolts, screws, studs and nuts made of austenitic, martensitic
and ferritic grades of corrosion-resistant stainless steel.
It applies to bolts, screws, studs and nuts with nominal thread diameter from 1,6 up to and including 39 mm, with ISO metric
threads with diameters and pitches in accordance with ISO 68 and ISO 262, of any shape, and also to nuts with widths across
flats or outside diameters 1,45 D and an effective thread engagement of at least 0,6 D.
This Standard does not define corrosion or oxidation resistance in particular environments. It does specify grades for fasteners
made from corrosion-resistant stainless steels.
2 Designation
The designation system for stainless steel grades and property classes for bolts, screws, studs and nuts consists of two blocks
which are separated by a hyphen. The first block designates the steel grade, the second block the property class.
The designation of the steel grade (first block) consists of the letters
A for austenitic steel
C for martensitic steel
F for ferritic steel
which indicate the Group of steel and a digit which indicates a range of Chemicals compositions within this steel group.
The designation of the property class (second block) consists of 2 digits which indicate 1/10 of the tensile strength of the
fasteners.
Example, A2-70 indicates austenitic steel, cold worked, minimum 700 N/mm2 tensile strength.
The martensitic and ferritic groups are hardly of any importance to commercial fasteners. They are not available from stock and
are only manufactured on order in great quantities.

4 Caracterizacin
Los tornillos hexagonales y los tornillos cilndricos con hexgono interior
y con dimetro de rosca d 5mm, debern ir marcados preferiblemente
en la cabeza con el smbolo caracterstico del material al que pertenecen,
as como la marca del fabricante, cuando esto sea tcnicamente posible
(fig.1).
Las tuercas con dimetro de rosca d 5mm, debern ir marcadas en la
superficie de apoyo o en una entrecaras con el smbolo caracterstico del
material al que pertenecen, as como la marca del fabricante, cuando esto
sea tcnicamente posible (fig.2).
Para la caracterizacin de tornillos y tuercas con rosca izquierda, son
validas DIN EN ISO 898-1 y DIN EN 20898-2.

All hexagon head bolts and screws and hexagon socket head cap screws of
nominal thread diameter d 5mm, shall be clearly marked, preferably on top
of the head, with the material symbol and the manufacturers identification
mark, provided this is possible for technical reasons (fig.1).

1 Campo de aplicacin
Esta norma fija el dimetro de los agujeros para tornillos autorroscantes segn DIN 7500 parte 1. Los dimetros de agujeros
se han fijado basndose en ensayos experimentales realizados por fabricantes y consumidores. Han de considerarse como
valores de orientacin y se clasifican atendiendo a distintos materiales y distintas longitudes roscadas.
Teniendo en cuenta los distintos formatos de ejecucin que se dan en los tornillos autorroscantes, resultara conveniente,
especialmente cuando se trate de fabricacin a gran escala, el comprobar los dimetros de agujeros fijados realizando
pruebas o ensayos propios.
Los procedimientos que empleados para hacer los agujeros den lugar a un endurecimiento o compactacin de la pared del
agujero, p.e. punzonado, podrn exigir unos dimetros de agujeros mayores que los valores de orientacin indicados en esta
norma. Esto puede resultar igualmente aplicable para agujeros de fundicin (costra de fundicin).

6. RECUBRIMIENTOS ELECTROLITICOS
6.1. Recubrimientos electrolticos sobre piezas con rosca
1 Objeto
Esta Norma internacional trata de las exigencias dimensionales de piezas roscadas de acero o de aleaciones de cobre, con
recubrimientos electrolticos. Da una clasificacin para los grados de solicitacin para estos elementos de unin y dispone
espesores de capa as como medidas para reducir el riesgo de enfragilizacin por el hidrogeno para elementos de unin de
alta resistencia templados superficialmente.
Los recubrimientos dados en esta Norma Internacional pueden ser empleados tambin para piezas sin rosca, como p.ej.,
arandelas.
2 Recubrimientos electrolticos
Un revestimiento electroltico se define como una capa metlica de proteccin, depositada sobre la superficie de los elementos
de metal, por inmersin en una solucin acuosa por la que circula una corriente elctrica.
3 Reduccin del riesgo de enfragilizacin por el hidrogeno
Para evitar el riesgo de enfragilizacin por el hidrogeno de los elementos de unin con rosca, de acero, con una resistencia a
la traccin Rm 1000 N/mm2 o una dureza 320 HV, estos deben ser recocidos a 200 10 C tan pronto como sea posible,
aunque no mas tarde de 4 horas despus de la terminacin del tratamiento electroltico.
Sin embargo no puede ser garantizada una limitacin completa al riesgo de la fragilizacin por el hidrogeno. Si esto
fuera exigido, se habrn de emplear entonces otros procedimientos de recubrimiento.
4 Designacin: Sistema numrico de clave
Para recubrimientos electrolticos es valido el siguiente sistema numrico de clave:

6. ELECTROPLATED COATINGS

1 Scope
This International Standard specifies dimensional requirements for electroplated fasteners of steel or copper alloy. It specifies
coating thickness and gives recommendations for hydrogen embrittlement relief for fasteners with high tensile strength or
hardness and for surface-hardened fasteners.
The specifications given in this International Standard may also be applied to non-threaded parts such as washers and pins.
2 Electroplated coatings
An electrolytically applied coating shall be defined as a protective metallic layer being deposited onto the surface of metal
articles by immersing these parts in an aqueous solution though which an electrical current is passed.
3 Hydrogen embrittlement relief
Due to the risk of hydrogen-induced delayed brittle fracture bolts and screws with a tensile strength Rm 1000 N/mm2 or a
hardness 320 HV have to be baked on 200 10 C as soon as possible but within 4 hours alter the coating process.
Complete elimination of hydrogen embrittlement cannot be assured. If a reduced probability of encountering
hydrogen embrittlement is desired, alternative procedures should be evaluated.
