Good morning everyone, I am pleased and honored to

introduce our guest speaker for todays event. She has been an
inspiration to everyone because not only that she is hard working
and dedicated to her job but also because of her passion. Today,
she will share to us her experience in disaster management and
project planning.
She is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Chinese History and
Politics in Kenyon College in Ohio and in the year 1992 she was able
to finish her Masters in International Public Health in Tulane University,
New Orleans. Some of you might be wondering about the nature of
her job. She told me that after graduating she worked in the United
Nations World Health Organization as a technical officer for
program management that went on for 21 years and was based in 5
countries namely, Cambodia, Vanuatu, Samoa, Papua New Guinea
and, of course, Philippines. She also helped in planning and
implementing an effective response and disaster support to the
Cambodian floods in 1994, Samoas Tsunami in 2009, Cook Islands
cyclone and Tokelaus drought. Whats more impressive is that she
has also managed multimillion dollar budgets for two projects that
were based in Pakistan.
As for now, she has decided to take a break from her job but is
very active in giving talks, just like this one, to share her knowledge to
the youths. So without further adieu, lets welcome Ms. April Vivien
Cu.
