System Monitoring: Monitor multiple application services of M2000 itself and mul
tiple processes of M2000 server
NE Monitoring: Monitor connection between M2000 and managed NEs
-The U2000 provides the dual IP address configuration solution that supports nor
thbound and southbound network isolation, helping ensure security. Northbound and
southbound networks are classified based on the U2000 server. The southbound net
work refers to the transmission network between the U2000 server and its managed
NEs.The northbound network includes northbound interfaces provided by the U2000
for the upper-layer NMS and transmission network between the U2000 server and c
lient, as well as the U2000 server and other Huawei OSS products.
M2000 server includes: multi services, processes and one connection between M200
0 and one certain managed NE
Display on M2000 client and storage in M2000 database: Performance counter
3-Tier Architecture: User interface/Business logic layer/Data access layer
Umbrella system: NMS
Info we need to know to configure M2000
Types and versions of physical NEs
Performance period
15 min, 30 min, 60 min
Performance data every 60 min or every 15 min requires different hardware capabi
lities for the M2000.
Number of performance counters
All counter model
KPI model
Counter increase, same NE more.
KPI:1/50 => 50 cells to 1 eNE
Different number of performance counters can be converted into equivalent NEs of
different numbers.
OSS is for RAN and PS part
ATAE: Advanced Telecommunications Application Environment
A carrier-class processing platform that is designed to meet the service applica
tion requirement of high performance, high specialization, and high integration.
MBB: Mobile broadband

EPU Data forwarding of 2G & 3G
ESU is the combination of both
By using ESU, able to downsize the cabinet to only 1 cabinet to support the boar

USN Mostly handle signalling, less data
UGW ONLY DATA

In each frame, there are 14 vertical board slots with numbers ranging from 0 to
13 and two horizontal board slot
The OMU is configured in the basic subrack. In the basic subrack, the rear board
of the switching unit (SWU) is the time master interface (TMI). In the service
subrack, the rear board of the SWU is the time slave interface (TSI).
The board area of a subrack has 14 slots at the front and rear sides respectivel
y. Boards can be inserted from both the front side and the rear side of the subr
ack. The front boards SWU and the corresponding rear boards, TMI or TSI, occupy
slots 6 and 7. Other slots, namely, slots 0 to 5 and slots 8 to 13 are the slots
for universal services.
Two subrack management unit (SMU) and two subrack data manage (SDM) boards exist
at the bottom of the subrack. The SMU and the SDM are mutually inserted from th
e front side and the rear side. The SMU is located at the front side of the subr
ack and the SDM is located at the rear side of the subrack.
ECU & EPU:
Basic Subrack: 1.one pair of OMU and SWU should be in basic subrack.
2.The rear board of SWU is TMI.
Service Subrack: 1.one pair of SWU should be in service subrack.
There is no OMU in service subrack.
2. The rear board of SWU is TSI.
ESU:
Basic Subrack: 1.one pair of OMU and SWU should be in basic subrack.
2.The rear board of SWU is TMI.
Service Subrack: 1.one pair of SWU should be in basic subrack.
There is no OMU in service subrack.
2. The rear board of SWU is TSI.
