Script Draft.

Opening Sequence

The House Back garden & Her Bedroom

Titles (director, producers, music) are seen over black. As this
happens, the sound of a rural environment is heard. (Monochrome
footage)The back of the house is established and the focus is on an
upstairs window. The environmental sound cuts when the view changes
to the inside of the house. The soundtrack begins when it goes
inside. The female character (currently unnamed) is seen sat on her
bed, her knees tucked under chin with her arms hugging her own legs.
She is pretty and innocent looking, especially in her big, baggy
jumper/cardigan. There is also torn pieces of paper strewn across
the quilt and floor. She moves the bed to the chair placed in front
of a desk with a mirror above. She picks up a pen from the desk and
begins to write a suicide letter. A name is seen written on the
paper:

Matthew

The camera moves away from the girl and the frame fades to black. A
couplet of titles are seen over black perhaps two of the actors.

Flashback 1

The (full colour) footage fades in and the girl is seen in a
different costume, looking healthier. Her hand and hip are then the
only things that are seen on screen as she stands waiting. Her
boyfriends (Matthews) hand enters the view and grabs her hand.

(Full colour)A time-lapse of a midday sky is seen, representing time
passing.

(Full colour but turns to monochrome as the boy leaves)The couples
hands are seen once again, their costumes and the setting has
changed to match the change in time. The boy leaves the shot to
represent the boyfriend leaving her life.

The House The Bedroom

(Monochrome)The girl tears up the letter as if infuriated by the
memory the tearing sound is prominent. Then another phrase is seen
being written:

Dear Mum

Flashback 2

(Full colour)The camera moves down the stairs of the house to reveal
the mum shouting at her daughter (the girl, who is sat at the dining
table. The audience does not hear her as if it is being mimed; the
whole sight is in slow motion.

The House Her Bedroom

(Monochrome)The memory is yet again by tearing up of the letter. She
begins to cry throwing her head into her hands, her mascara running
down her cheeks.

Flashback 3

(Monochrome)This memory is a reoccurrence of Flashback 1 with the
boyfriend leaving her but is not queued by the writing of a letter,
hence the reason it is in black and white.

The House Her bedroom

(Monochrome)The girl is then seen writing:

and now that youre gone

She looks at the sleeping pills on the desk next to the pieces of
paper, just in front of a bottle of vodka. She picks up the pills
and consumes them, and picks up more pills and consumes them and
does so many times.

The House Bathroom

(Monochrome)Her hand is seen turning on the bath tap the sound of
the water flowing fills the room. She climbs into the bath with a
cold expression. Her head submerges into the clear water, with her
eyes closed. Fade to black. Film title is seen over black:

Yours Sincerely

Bridging Shot into Scene One

(Full colour) A time-lapse of a reverse sunrise/sunset is seen with
the titles seen at the bottom of the screen:

Three months earlier
