Performance Task Description:
Goal: In the 30 minute session, teachers will create an account and successfully create an Aurasma.

Role: The role of the performance task is to allow teachers the opportunity to participate in a hands on training and after viewing the
modelling of the skill, practice.

Learning Plan
Where are your students headed?
Where have they been?
Participating teachers have a broad range of technology skills.
Students are heading towards more effectively integrating
technology into the classroom.
How will you hook students? Students will view the video: Teaching with Aurasma in the
Classroom
What events will help students experience and explore the big
idea and questions in the unit?
How will you equip them with needed skills and knowledge?
Through a brief discussion, teachers will explore and discuss the
essential question.
Through modelling and practice, teachers will develop an
Aurasma.
How will you help students to exhibit and self-evaluate their
growing skills, knowledge, and understanding throughout the
unit?
Teachers will be encouraged to ask questions and write down
questions for discussion.
Teachers will also reflect on their learning using a self-reflection
tool.
How will you tailor and otherwise personalize the learning
plan to optimize the engagement and effectiveness of ALL
students, without compromising the goals of the unit?
To tailor the lesson for all learning styles, there will be a handout
with screenshots and an online tutorial developed as well as
modelling. Teachers will also have the time to practice the steps
as needed.
How will you organize and sequence the learning activities to
optimize the engagement and achievement of all students?
Step 1: Introduce students to Aurasma using the Teaching with
Aurasma and discuss the benefits.
Step 2: Guide teachers to website and how to create an account.
Step 3: Guide teachers through the process of creating an
Aurasma.

Audience: 9-12 teachers participating in a professional development activity.
Situation: Teachers will come during a lunch and learn that is held every week.
Product: The final product will be a fully operational Aurasma.
